600 is low for craftsmanship like that.

I didn't think so until I saw him color matching at the end. That's some tedious shit, and it came out great. Totally worth the cost.

I've spent my adult life doing various installation and repair jobs—and hearing people say, "But I could do it so much cheaper myself!" when I gave them a quote. No. No, you couldn't. You don't have the tools; you don't have the materials: you don't even know what tools or materials you really need, and you don't have hours of experience that have taught you how to use those tools and materials well, and with the least amount of time and effort. You will spend a lot more money than you expected on tools and materials, and you will also spend a lot more time than you anticipated doing the actual job, because no matter how many YouTube tutorials you've watched, you still won't know what you're doing. How much is your time really worth? And chances are extremely good that the finished job will end up looking like DIY. I can do basic electrical, but I hired an electrician to come out and replace all 24 LED ceiling fixtures in my house with regular can lights, run wire for and hang three new ceiling fixtures and a ceiling fan, replace two bathroom fixtures, replace a bathroom vent fan, fix a bunch of dead outlets, install exterior outlets, and replace all of the existing exterior lighting. It was expensive, and I could have done nearly all of those jobs myself, but it would have taken me forever, and he did it all in two days because he had everything he needed and has done all of it hundreds of times before. I paid him what he charged without a word of complaint, because my cost savings in time alone made his rates worth it. So yes, I would pay $600 to the guy in this video to repair a cracked marble counter because it would get done fast, done right, and frankly I'm surprised it's that cheap.

It will most likely crack again in the same spot

I think for that price you could have installed new marble. Most wouldn't be able to tell the difference tbh.

Not if he didn’t fix the reason why it cracked in the first place

A trip to Home Depot ( or 2 😂) and you can fix this yourself for about 50$

If you can abstract the fact that it'll be cracked again in about an hour. It's great.

I would have opted for kintsugi, myself.

First of I wouldn’t have marble floors especially large slab because the tend to do exact what happened here… But. This man is obviously an artisan. So if I was in this situation and had the money yes.

Can you do it yourself or find someone cheaper? If the answer is no then it's worth it.

But if you didn’t fix WHY the crack happened in the first place (likely one side is not supported as well as the other side), you’ll just end up with a crack again.

LAME! Just do Kintsugi and fill the crack with a clear filler and mix it with gold powder for a cool look.
