I was told that we need to listen to certain expert’s opinions that technique mattered for long term joint health. With one of those experts having two hip replacements.

Dangerous? Strong adjective. Not ideal and sub-optimal? Absolutely. Increases the risk of injury if consistently performed like this under heavy loads? Absolutely. Do we rely completely on the ambiguity of "what research currently says" to form our decisions? Absolutely not.

Sub optimal… shes lifting nearly 4x her body weight! In what world is that sub optimal??? 🤦‍♂️😂🤔

Overall I agree Adam here. Especially in regard to the issue of specific technique. However, I do have concerns about massive loads on skeletal structures in pre-pubescent children whose epiphyseal plates are not yet ossified. Loading generally is good. Extreme? Not so sure

No. The only issue with this is that Rory has been heavily on social media for years (consent?). Her parents make money with views. It started with fun little videos of her lifting (which was great) & now it seems like full on social media management and always more spectacular.

Its less then ideal. Glad she’s deadlifting but no need for that much weight at her age. Form is not going to be perfect maxing out but at 10 I see no benefit when she could be doing lighter weight for reps. Keeping good form and doing accessory work for her valgus knees

I think I’m inclined to agree with you there 😊

I don’t love that her default is to have her knees cave. Women in general have a wider Q angle and more prone to acl injuries. Just think there’s much more beneficial things she could be doing as a young athlete then super heavy deads

Q angles have not been seen to be correlated with ACL injury, and the mechanisms of her valgus here are completely different than during ACL injuries!

@adamdobson123 "Danger" is relative. If we define injury as "exceeding capacity, and something fails", then the closer we get to capacity, the higher the danger.
