Do you think this slide is clean or dirty?

100% dirty. You come in with spikes facing the other player that’s dangerous and dirty. No other way to see it. Then throw in he slid AT the guy vs the bag. Douchebaggery

I think baseball players have become soft soft soft soft soft.

Well, the base is way over there.

When you never make contact with the bag, it's hard to argue it was clean.

It’s dirty and anyone saying otherwise is a moron

That's dirty. Spikes up to the shin. Not Ty Cobb level but still dirty

Watched it 10 times. Not egregious, but the runner did come in spikes up and got 3rd baseman on the ankle which looked intentional. On top of that, made no attempt to touch the base. The 3rd baseman is gonna survive, but not a great look for the runner.

This is Ty Cobb performing a “Detroit vasectomy” To put things in some kind of perspective.
I think any slide is clean - bunch of softies playing the game now

Dirty. Headed came in with spikes high. That deserved some chin music next at bat.

Is say intentionally sliding right into a player that is essentially off the bag combined with the late, hard slide makes this a dirty slide.

Fielder has covered inside of base, but throw drags him to the outside half. Runner, going to outside half of bag, is committed to slide. Slide is low onto bag & fielder’s late step onto bag instigates any contact. I think the slide is clean and fielder’s move endangered himself.

3B should have landed on him. A knee to the chest would make him not bring the spikes in so hard next time

I’ll answer that by asking a question. Are we using today’s rules or the rules from when I was growing up? The rule used to be if you could touch the base with your slide it was ok. Nowadays, you can’t do anything.

It is dirty but not something the pitcher can’t handle with his next pitch. @TheCloser12 @davidcooo @KBbfan

BS, neither knew which way the other was going. They both tried to avoid each other.

Outside the baseline and led with his spike. Toss his ass.

I asked an expert. Ty Cobb said it was fine!

This is just what used to be called "baseball" before the feminization of America.

Just plain stupid and dirty base running. It was a force out at 3rd base, and he was out by a mile. Runner could have been trying to break up a double play, but the third baseman never had the time to double up anyway. I've seen the benches empty for less.

At a minimum, it's an illegal slide. The baserunner is required to slide straight into the base unless he is attempting to avoid contact and also can't go beyond the base with his slide, unless it's home plate. I take it college coaches don't do much rules teaching.

The spikes coming up makes it a dirty slide.

Late slide = Dirty slide...fastball to his helmet.

Possibly dirty. Spikes slightly up and uses forearm. But hard to gauge intent. Clearly illegal though, and that was the call. The penalty was invoked because the slide was illegal, not because it was “dirty.”

"Clean slide" - Ty Cobb

Dirty slide. Next time you come in like that you're eating a knee in the face.

It Texas Tech…dirty it is

Dirty as all hell. Spikes up, left of the bag, sliding past the bag. Nobody does that unless they're trying to hurt someone while "breaking up a possible DP." If there was no possibility of DP (no other runner to throw out), that makes this even more egregious.

Aggressive but turned dirty when he never tried to stay on the bag.

Dirty! No attempt to the base.

Tech player, definitely dirty

Spikes up. No attempt to slide at the bag, it was dirty.

By today’s college rules he is required to slide directly into the base so should be a double play. Clearly intent to go after player there on a force play, wasn’t concerned about being safe, lol. Dirty in today’s game, hard nosed old school but he’d be dealt with later!😉

Why are we straddling the bag on a force out? What is going on here? Fundamentals are gone!!!!
