The first fully AI-generated movie just went viral in Cannes. The film is called Hell Grind. According to reports, it was made using Higgsfield AI in around 14 days, cost about $500,000 and roughly $400,000 of that went to compute. For context, a traditional Hollywood feature can take 1-3 years and cost tens of millions to produce. This one was created by a team of about 15 directors, cinematographers, and editors using AI tools like Higgsfield’s Soul Cinema, Seedance 2.0 and other video models. The craziest part? For just the first 25 minutes, CineD reported they generated 16,181 clips to get 253 final shots. That’s roughly 64 attempts for every shot. Some prompts were reportedly around 3,000 words each, just to get 15 seconds of usable footage. So yes, AI is getting faster. But the real takeaway is not “humans are useless now” It’s actually the opposite The people who understand storytelling, directing, editing, taste and tools are about to get insane leverage.

I'm actually garbage at using AI for videos. But people still loved "Founder Mode" AI Music Video because it was meaningful and there was some thought put into it. I've seen a lot of amazing/cool looking AI videos that get praised but never leave the tech twitter bubble because the video is soulless and boring. This is the equivalent of a high production quality short film, but empty/generic with no real unique voice. To all AI artists + technologists: If you teach me AI Video techniques, I'll teach you storytelling in exchange. That way, we can have more meaningful content in the world and lower the barrier of entry for video making. DM me your work or post it here for everyone to see. He felt compelled to remove it due to the incredible amount of bullying he was receiving. In his words: "The amount of hate, negativity, and fear was staggering, and I didn't want to defend myself against that." Nothing outrages me more me more than the "cancel culture" and the unfair pressures on creators who are simply using AI tools and showing the world how they can learn these new creative processes. His video is amazing. It shows how Generative AI nowadays is much more than "just writing a prompt". And how it will enable artists and designers to experiment in countless new ways. Remember that it's not that artists/designers hate AI! AI Haters are just a small group of people and they don't speak for all artists. In fact, I know many more artists and designers who already use it daily. But they just don't make noise: they focus on learning and creating.
