Claude will forget skills.md after 6 answers. Performances used to be good before March.

EVERY "EARLY ADOPTER" OF CLAUDE/AI IS TEACHING THE AI HOW TO ELIMINATE THEIR JOB. Literally. It's worse than people who are fired for outsourcing being forced to train the foreign workers replacing them. People are eagerly training AI how to do their own jobs. And the tech companies are gobbling up all that information so they can help the companies eliminate human jobs.

Hey pubitykit, quick summary of the 16-min Anthropic talk: Engineers Barry & Mahesh explain ditching custom agents for "Skills"—simple folders of files/scripts that encode your workflows, expertise, and domain knowledge. This makes Claude (or any agent) way smarter over time via code as the universal interface, progressive context disclosure, and continuous learning. Key takeaways to implement now: - Build Skills as basic folders (README + scripts/tools) anyone can create/share via Git/Drive. - Start with foundational ones (e.g., doc editing, data analysis) then add team/org-specific for best practices. - Let Claude auto-generate/evolve Skills from repeated tasks for "day 30" gains. - Pair with MCP servers for external tools; treat Skills like shareable software for compounding team/community value. Watch it—game-changer for personalization.

the folder metaphor is what makes it click. no config hell, no plugin marketplace, just dump your context files into a directory and it works. been building my own skills for weeks and the DX is genuinely better than anything else out there.

Huh I did not know Dinesh and Jian Yang was working in Anthropic. I’m pretty sure Claude can perfectly detect sausage images.

the 4-hour guide link at the bottom is the actual product. the 16-minute video is the free sample. the thread is the funnel. the structure is: identify an anthropic feature (skills), describe it with enough mystery to create a knowledge gap ("the part nobody is talking about"), generate urgency ("watch this before you do anything"), then convert the engagement into a guide subscription. the information about skills is correct. the delivery mechanism is a sales pipeline that happens to contain useful content

So yes, that's the principle of using IAg with a file-based system rather than one that's app-locked. It's one of the revolutions of IAg for 2026 that I describe in this article.

Skills are just folders. That's it. That's the whole unlock and it sounds too simple to be real until you try it.

I kindly request that you do your research. People are talking about those 3 parts. That’s literally the definition of a skill.

the 'just folders' framing is the most honest take. it's structured context, nothing more. people overcomplicate it because they want magic

skills being just folders is actually genius design. instead of complex plugin systems you literally just teach claude through structured files. anyone can make a skill which means the ecosystem is gonna explode with community contributions
