It was such a good feeling to roll out the seven bed Dialysis centre at GMC Handwara. MLA Handwara CDF grant of 32 Lakhs and a generous grant of 43 lakhs under SSY by the then DC Kupwara Ayushi Sudan ensured that this seven bed modern dialysis unit is finally operational at GMC Handwara. The SSY grant was used to get RO and the civil part of the project. The CDF was used to get the machinery component of the project. Hope it serves the people. What is urgently needed is Dialysis Technicians. The posts though requested officially are yet to be created.

🔴 Hello GMC, This Physician Assistant is quite excited to be regulated by the GMC, despite the fact that GMC registration will add ZERO value to her knowledge and expertise. ⭕️ There will still be an enormous chasm in the knowledge base between a PA and a medical student; 5 years of medical school cannot be compared to this quackery 2-year MSc course. ⭕️ Also, can you clarify whether you will grant them automatic prescribing rights upon registration? If the answer is yes, pharmacology books must be thrown out the window. The GMC must be realistic with their PAs that this registration will not compensate for their weak base knowledge and will never put them on par with doctors.

Dr. Caleb Masterson say health insurance companies are openly breaking laws in Alabama He explains some of his patients situations with insurance companies - “I had an insurance company tell a patient that no authorization for the procedure was required, the procedure was performed, and then the patient was denied the care because the procedure was never authorized. So the patient got charged the entire cost of the procedure” - “I had another patient who is supposed to be due an answer to an insurance claim within 30 days of submission. If they do not reply within 30 days, that's breaking Alabama law. And that claim is currently at the 65th day, so its insurance can be breaking the law.” - “Then I had an insurance company deny care to a patient that they had previously approved. So a patient qualified for surgery based on medical necessity, they had met all the criteria for surgery, they underwent surgery, then the patient had that surgery denied. The patient submitted that information to the insurance company and said, Hey, look, this was already pre-approved. And they said, We reversed our decision and the patient had to pay.”

From despair to hope and from struggle to triumph, this is the incredible story of a wild elephant mother's fight for survival backed by a dedicated and professional team of foresters and vets from Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu Forest Department .The mother elephant was found sick and lying on ground with her 3 months old baby roaming around her in confusion and distress.The team consulted experts and vets and successfully lifted her with the help of a crane. She was kept supported by the crane for three days while being treated by Vets. Her baby joined the herd and other siblings roaming in the nearby forests visiting the mother in the night. Thanks to the treatment,she gained enough strength and was released to freedom in the wild today. We are monitoring her to keep an eye on her well being. GOD NEVER FAILS: Today marked a new beginning on our 11 years old medical case for Scandy Chelagat as the first process of her first eye implant surgery was a success at the Lions Sightfirst Eye Hospital done by a team of professional doctors led by Dr. Abhijit Rasal (Lions resident Doctor), Dr. Harsh (who flew in from India purposely for this important surgery) among other doctors. A further review will be done tomorrow, and on friday, a temporary artificial eye will be fixed as we await the magnetic impants to be intergrated with the surrounding skin there after the final artificial magnetic eye will be fixed. I am pleased to report that the patient is stable, recovering quickly, and responding well to the procedure. Canadian man undergoes "tooth in eye" surgery to restore his sight, the first of its kind in Canada. The procedure uses a tooth of the patient to be used as a structure for an artificial cornea. Before the tooth can be put in the eye, it is placed in the cheek, following it being shaved into a rectangle. A hole is drilled in the tooth and a lens is placed inside. The tooth is then implanted in the cheek for three months. "[The tooth] doesn’t have any connective tissue that I can actually pass a suture through to connect it to the eyeball. So the point of implanting it for three months is for it to gain the layer of supporting tissue," said Dr. Greg Moloney. Patient Brent Chapman has already had the first surgery and will be going onto phase 2 when it's time to remove the tooth from the cheek. The second surgery will require doctors to remove Chapman's iris and lens, before sewing the tooth into his eye. If successful, Chapman will be able to see through the small hole.
