Our officers saw open intoxicant containers in the vehicle and a six-pack of alcohol on the vehicle’s floor. They also determined that he entered the U.S. illegally, so he’s now in ICE custody.

Alerted about the #incident, a #constable on duty at the #IIITJunction tried to stop the #vehicle. Shockingly, the #driver identified as G Tarun (24), sped towards him, causing the #constable to land on the car’s #bonnet and dragging him for nearly a kilometre. With the help of other #motorists, the #car was finally stopped and police took the driver into #custody. Further #investigation is underway.

The bus, en route from Gauteng to Malawi, became immobilised a short distance from the Polokwane weigh‑bridge while being redirected to the Provincial Traffic Control Centre (PTCC). During the stop, the driver attempted to flee the scene. He was promptly intercepted, restrained and arrested by officers from the South African Police Service (SAPS) and Limpopo Traffic Officers. The bus will remain at the PTCC until the excess passengers are removed and the prescribed fine is settled. Further investigations are underway.
