does anyone else have this lag with multiple monitors when they wake up from standby on Windows? I can’t find a fix

This happens to me all the time. I think it might actually be the Alienware monitors. I have the same ones as you, and it was only after getting the 4K that this started. Could be a coincidence with a Windows/driver update.

interesting! I should try without the Alienware and see if that fixes it

I would first gather more data with a procmon trace, Sysinternals Process Monitor and then try to look for delays, timeouts, etc. .. maybe as a planned task to trigger it when machine is waking up. It’s just a lot of filtering out the noise.

ahh that might be a good shout, but fwiw the PC itself isn’t in standby, just the monitors

Hard reset your graphics stack: ctrl+win+shift+b

Yes, I do and it's kind of annoying. It doesn't happen all the time but when it does.
