Your shoulders currently stay level throughout the swing. It's easier to get margin over the net (& power) if you can get them tilted at an angle during the loading phase so that your elbow is lower. Mirra is an excellent one to emulate. Couple this with tossing further forward.

Welcome! Yea, ingrained muscle memory is really tough to adjust. Look how tricky it's been for for Coco, for instance. Good luck!

I don’t see anything wrong with your serve technique.. one thing you can add is …as the ball rises, arching your back slightly helps to generate more power at impact. It also allows you to better coordinate the action of your legs and arm to hit at maximum extension.Good luck 🎾

You have a very good technically correct arm action and fluid motion. My guess is the limitation on your serve is that it's very flat and it's really really good IF it goes in. The biggest thing missing for me is a nearly complete lack of tilt on the take back - watch the video, you're shoulders remain nearly parallel through the whole swing. Look at the position of Roddick's shoulders below. At no point do you have this tilt going on. One of the most important facets of the serve is that you should feel like you are hitting the ball UPWARDS, NOT outwards towards the target. I would start with your left shoulder, keep your left arm up longer after the toss. You should feel that you are actively stretching that left arm towards heaven. That should be the cue your body needs to tilt your torso, bend your back knee more, and create a more powerful position and the ability to start playing with spin more on the serve. One of the ideal ways to practice this is find an American football, take about 3 steps back from a high fence, and see if you can throw the football over the fence, not far but as high as you can throw it so it lands on the other side. To do so you will have tilt the shoulders, bend back and throw towards the sky. The crazy thing is if you do that EXACT SAME motion when you serve, it will improve dramatically. You have done the hard part and have developed a fluid arm (throwing) motion. Now you can take your serve to the next level

Main thing I’d say is you’re letting the ball drop quite low and then bringing your body down with you early to get a good strike.

Shoulders line, legs could work more to give an impulse, and the throw is to me a bit too high. Good luck

More knee bend and leg drive will increase power but your motion looks solid

Your toss is high, but the contact point is low, you are L shaped at contact because you are hitting the ball above your head instead of in front of you. This is also the reason why you are landing on the baseline after serve.

I’d hate to be on the other side returning! 🙌🏽🎾

The right hip (I’m assuming the video isn’t inverted) opens up too early and that takes away extra power you could be getting having your front foot and back foot both relatively equal and on the same level will help but a beautiful serve regardless

Quite dangerous to land like this on your left leg

daniella🎾's profile picture

wym? you’re supposed to land on your left leg like that

Not at all You should try the stationary platform stance instead You probably cant understand French but you should listen to Laurent Rochette (yt)

maybe something’s getting lost in translation, but when you land after the serve you absolutely have to land on your left leg

There is a difference between me you and Zverev . Look at your vid and try to figure out when a good player returns well . How if your imbalance

daniella🎾's profile picture
daniella🎾1 month ago

i don’t think you watch tennis close enough. literally every single player lands on 1 foot. then you pivot quickly to both feet to prepare for the return. i’m just practicing serve so i don’t change my position to the +1 shot . if you don’t understand that then you haven’t played

Where did I say to not land on your left foot or one leg ? I advise you to do stationary platform stance instead I probably left you 6-0 6-0 unless you are 500 of US

Great serve motion. Great weight transfer as well. Great shoulder to elbow level ratio. Keep up the good work

Why are you bouncing on your left foot? Bring that right foot down quicker to prepare for the return or to move forward for the serve plus one or a volley.

cuz i’m just practicing serves not serves +1

rotate more shoulders so land on you right leg more forward (don't land on you left leg) !!!!

Giiiirl your core must be hella strong, good motion overall. I would work on your posture, the high toss may help you with it actually.

More fluid and smooth back swing with the racket. Let the racket loop, in a rhythm, without slowing or speeding up too much. Just a fluid rhythmic motion.

It looks pretty good, just a few things. Your right foot comes across your left when you step up, opening your hips too early and taking away power. You’re also jumping more forward than up, making you fall into the serve and lowering your contact point.

That little hop off the left foot is a bit odd. Now let's see the success rate! 😉

When the ball is in the air, take a look at how much knee is bent and how far back the racquet hand is. I’m no expert but I think it’s safe to emulate a legend

Probably need a higher leap when you serve

oggy's profile picture
oggy1 month ago

when you bring your right foot out your hips rotate towards the net which make it harder to transfer body weight, it should step at most parallel to your left, Shelton’s point serve is a good example. he also loads well so you can emulate that. he loads the back then jumps front

it’s very fluid, I think you just have to try to get more extension but def prettier than mine 😂

1: Turn your front foot parallel to the baseline. All the pros do. That will also stop your back foot coming too far forward and opening your hips early 2: toss the ball and try to feel like you’re hanging off it while bending the knees. That gets the shoulder tilt and power 1/2

Try changing your grip a little. Turn the racket a little so the bottom of the racket head it facing your left foot. It may feel strange at first but it should give your more topspin.

Lower the toss, toss more out in front and don’t fall forward so much at the torso around impact
