Does anyone still remember this wonderful work?

Los Bravos’ great 1966 success “ Black is Black”.Lead singer was Mike Kennedy(German-born Michael Kogel),one of two members of the group who is still alive.Kennedy’s powerful voice is sometimes compared to that of the late, great Gene Pitney.

On my 10th birthday in 1966 I got a small transistor radio. I was SO proud to get it. When I installed the battery and turned it on this song was playing. Good memories! 🤗🎶🥰

Some of us still have the 45

Los Bravos

Los Bravos, from Spain. They couldn't speak English and had to sing the song phonetically.

Los Bravos (Madrid 1965) hit the US charts with this #4 hit (‘66) in spite of the fact they didn’t speak English. How many other great bands have we in the US missed out on? I know of at least one other from Madrid; Los Secretos (1978). This band blew away Mexicans and other Latinos with hits like “Pero a tu lado”. For me personally, great Spanish-speaking bands are reason enough to ‘aprender a entender español’ ; it opens up a whole new world of music. . . .

More turtlenecks please

I remember. Loved it. But that dude in the black be playin' guitar in Spain and burning ants on the sidewalk in China wit dem glasses. 👀

Yes!

Spanish band with a German lead singer. This song was huge.

I don't think anyone ever forgot this! 🦋

"We love you"

This looks like a bad Austin Powers parody.

Black is Black-Los Bravos. I had the 45

The hair was short by the standards of the day ! What rebels !

Gene Pitney sound alike on lead vocal.

Excellent

Are those pedo symbols in the wall? Lol.

I knew the song as soon as it started, damn I’m old. 😂😂

It’s a good song… as long as we don’t have to see them!!!!!

Los Bravos! In my LA area school all the Mexican kids loved it bc they thought the band was Mexican. Ha ha they were Spaniards! Never had a taco in their lives!

Featuring TOM CRUISE on DRUMS! 😆

I can name that tune in 2 notes!

I do. Great song. A group of Spaniards with the lead vocalist from Germany, never new that until recently.

Yes!

Honestly, hard pass. That’s a really crappy recording. The singer is trying too hard, and the sound is choppy and amateur. You must have been a kid to think this was any good.

Los Bravos and their Gene Pitney sound-alike lead singer.

I have this vinyl

My Gaydar just went off the charts!

i remember

Los Bravos “Black Is Black”

Yes I remember it well, danced to it

I thought it was Gene Pitney

Why did most of the groups back then look gay
