The average time to throw in the NFL last season was 2.42-3.14 seconds (Next Gen Stats). As a former NFL Scout, I put a stopwatch to how long Caleb Williams holds the ball on this play. I got 5.38 seconds.

The final play of the game last night. A lot going on. Caleb didn’t have time to send the motion or get the guys lined up properly. The highest probability of a score here would’ve been to get the ball to Swift early and trust him to break a tackle. #DaBears #Bears

Not only does it not “definitely” hit the hand. He also said it come from a throw in, let me see the throw in……. Btw it was a foul throw as the Celtic players foot was on the pitch when the ball was released. How can so much go wrong with 4 officials?

Time is running out to see if you have what it takes to be an NFL quarterback. Grab a ball, throw some deep routes, then grab your controller and find the NFL Quarterback Simulator on Roblox. I’ll see you on the Fuel Up to Play 60 dairy field!

Bears missed a potential explosive play right here to Rome Odunze, who goes in motion and then runs a vertical route. Check out the slight hesitation from Odunze to create space. Caleb Williams just didn't put enough on the throw. Commanders did run a stunt to create pressure.

A fan in Right Field appeared to throw a baseball at Jesús Sánchez. Jesús Sánchez is leaving the game after the ball hit him in the hand

Throw plyos with a purpose. Don’t throw them just to throw them. Pick a target and hit it. With the mound about 30 feet from the wall, the ball flight gives us instant feedback, showing where the athlete misses. Command training will never stop.

These route concepts make no damn sense. Where is Caleb Williams supposed to throw the ball on this third-and-11 play? By the time Williams' eyes go to Keenan on the slant, the DB is coming down and would have lit him up. Allen also adjusted his route. There is nothing there.

Middle infielders: I’m a believer in taking the throw from in-front of the bag on a stolen-base attempt. The main reason why: Catchers aren’t always going to put the ball on the bag. A common miss is arm side, causing the throw to tail towards first base. When you're in-front, you have freedom to move toward a bad throw without the runner sliding underneath or into you. You can catch it, make the tag, and potentially keep a bad throw from getting into center field. If you straddle the bag, your range can become limited once the runner starts sliding in. In order to do this, you must LET THE BALL TRAVEL Don't reach out, catch it early, and then bring your glove back to the runner. You're wasting valuable time. Let the ball travel over the bag and make a quick tag. If he's out → quick tag If he's safe → tag and HOLD IT. Give him a chance to come off the bag. Get in-front Let the ball travel Catch it late Tag quickly

Heck of a throw by Gunnar Henderson to get the Mariners' Connor Joe at third on the relay here, but the exchange was what really made the play. Henderson caught and threw the ball in 0.8(!) seconds. 🎥: Baltimore Orioles

Very interesting comment from Jeff Hafley when speaking on the Up & Adams Kay Adams: Who is Malik throwing the ball to? Haf: “He’s gonna be throwing to some good players. We’ve got a lot of draft picks. We’ll have receivers for Malik to throw to. Next time we talk after the draft I think you’re gonna see we’ll get some good ones for him to throw to.” Did Haf just confirm Miami is drafting at least 1 WR and maybe multiple in the top 100?👀

The NFL needs to change this rule. The Packers committed a penalty with 21 seconds left, bringing up 4th down. So they had a 10 second run-off. But the Jets were getting the ball. They’d have less time to operate. The team with the ball could just keep committing penalties until there’s no time left. Luckily, it didn’t affect this game.

It doesn’t surprise me in the slightest that Caleb Williams was walking around during the National Anthem before the Eagles game on Monday Night Football. He has done everything in his power to get out of structure since he was in college. He did everything he could to not adhere to the NFL’s processes pre-draft. He refused to throw at the NFL Combine. He chose not to undergo medical testing at the Combine or to share his medical records with all 32 teams (Bleacher Report). Pre-draft, “Williams and his family sought ways to potentially circumvent the draft process, going as far as consulting with lawyers to find a loophole in the collective bargaining agreement and weighing the idea of joining the UFL instead.” (Fox Sports) His dad Carl Williams “met with labor lawyers and agents to come up with a way to circumvent the system.” (NBC Sports). “The rookie cap is just unconstitutional,” Carl Williams told Wickersham. (NBC Sports) Williams waited right before the start of his rookie camp to sign his rookie deal (July 16, 2024). Bears rookies were scheduled to report that day. He does anything and everything he can to rebel against the system. When it comes to playing, he craves getting out of structure. That’s why he holds the ball so long. He has to do it his way. He doesn’t like to just drop back and get the ball out of his hand on schedule. Oh no, not Williams… He’s had one of the slowest times to throw in the NFL in 2024, 2025 and 2026. Per PFF: College: 2021: 3.52 seconds 2022: 3.24 seconds 2023: 3.17 seconds NFL 2024: 3.03 seconds 2025: 3.24 seconds 2026: 3.70 seconds Williams LOVES getting out of structure. He CRAVES getting out of structure. That’s why him walking around during the National Anthem should not surprise anyone. It’s who he is.

Feel how you wanna feel, but I’ll be damned if this is a ball!! This is one of the best hitters if not the top hitter in the country you shouldn’t have to throw the ball over the heart of the plate to get a strike out. Umpires gotta be better.
