I doubt it has anything to do with fun. the devs themselves said it was a blast and the original Factions is very fun and still being played today. I think it was never actually a priority for Naughty Dog and fear, uncertainty and doubt about live service gave them cold feet

Spot on!! The devs knew exactly what the game was. I imagine they have a roadmap and events planned out to properly support the live service game they created. Most new live service games run out of content quickly and become stale. It’s an example of a proper live service game

PlayStation studios didn’t make this though and the population on Sony system is low. I am not sure their audience wants this. It doesn’t mean they shouldn’t just means they gotta be careful because these games become expensive and hard to monetize. Sony needs a strategy

Last line made me laugh 😂

no it doesn't. most games shouldn't be live service. most do the monetization wrong. HD2 is a gem

Sony should make another studio to finished Tlou online, I’m very very confident in his success, could be more played than Helldivers 2, Factions 1 still being played a lot after all this years, with only 3 game mode and NO co-op🤦🏻♂️

All we know is they can provide another great base game. Let’s wait until content starts to roll and see if it keeps the players engaged. Diablo had a huge drop off before season 1 & 2

No, this is lightning in a bottle.

Isn’t the player population already dropping after a week?

No.

I’ve felt for a long time that we need more games that are “gameplay first” on PlayStation. Cinematic story games are great and all, but I don’t always feel like sitting through all the cutscenes. Sometimes, I just want to shoot shit.

Live service is only good if the game is good.

Not enough data to really know, and it might very well take years to be able to call it one way or another short of them somehow lucking into creating the next Fortnite.

Yeah, couldn't agree more. While this is a huge success, you're right. The vision was there and, to be honest, it's still too early to tell. And no matter how popular TLOU has become, it'd have never reached those numbers. Helldivers 2 is one of those rare cases of +

I wish games would replicate the quality of Uncharted 2 from the PS3 days but with today’s bells and whistles. A great 7-18 hour game with a tacked-on great multiplayer for 60$. GaaS is nice, but I’m sure people’s time is limited like mine. Games are too big and long in scope.

i’ll be there good content

I’m pretty sure you the audio dropping on the pulses that were talked about this episode are related to the exhaust in the back. Gets too hot and messes with the connection. Haven’t had any issues since I plugged it in the front.

I was always curious on they would have been going before everyone complained before one could even release.

Y'all gotta stop it. You have 1 cancelled game and most people didn't give a shit about this game till it released

I think the fact that Helldivers 2 launched the same day that another PlayStation live service game did shows that there’s still stumbling blocks. Foamstars was given no room to breathe with its launch and probably is suffering from the hype of Helldivers.
