THIS is happening to all industries and YES they are keeping the small business likeness, website, logo, etc. so when you think you’re going to your small local vet you’re not and you’re paying the same price as you would over at PetSmart or any other corporatized place. HVAC Electrical Plumbing Roofing Framers Excavators Concrete companies etc. Then what happens is they buy out all the apartment complexes in the neighborhood and then they only give business to the other companies that they own, which will effectively push out all the rest of the small companies they did not buy. You know the one that your husband thinks that he owns and the one that your neighbor and his friends own in the lawn care company that the guy down the street owns they will make sure that they cannot get any business. It is imperative , it is imperative that when you hire anybody to do any work at all for you or with you that it is 100% a small owned company that has not been bought by private equity. It is the only way to keep these small businesses alive in America. Private equity is gutting the middle class small business owner in America and they will not stop until they own everything. I don’t think people understand how serious this is. I don’t think people understand how quickly encroaching this is and I don’t think that people understand how close their friends and family members and dads and brothers small HVAC company and plumbing company and roofing company is to being swallowed up and pushed out of a market with nowhere to go.

This is true. My elder neighbor paid $30k for a new HVAC system that he probably didn’t even need. He’s 80….

Fuck blackrock, vanguard and statestreet. As a construction business owner, I recommend hiring someone who is a small business that has a portfolio and customer references. That's the only way to trust anyone these days.

Honest business owners should keep lower prices and swoop up the customers that those people are swindling.

Ask to have the small business owner come and meet with you. Hopefully, smart new small business owners will spring up amidst these overpriced conglomerates

Sounds like a job for the attorney general in every state. Consumer fraud can be prosecuted. As well it sounds like a monopoly antitrust should be involved. Contact your state AG. Could even be federal. @AGPamBondi

They are too busy with lobbyists to see the Barbarians at the Gate. The Barbarians are quiet, sly, and very sophisticated. Fox in the henhouse is perhaps a better description. And they have virtually unlimited money. And why would anyone want to stop them. Many lawmakers, almost everyone in power, and every large institution investing capital are LPs in the funds. Hell the police, firemen, and teacher pensions are all in on it. The scope is so large that about a quarter (25%) of corporate equity is owned by this group and almost no one sees it because it’s so well hidden.

They did this in roofing years ago. I worked in the office for a roofing supply company back in 2012 that opened a branch in a severely hail damaged town. There were 3 nationally owned companies that swooped in and bought all of the locally owned roofing contractors (mom & pops that had been around for 50+ years) kept their names & likenesses, ran mostly Hispanic crews that didn’t speak English & worked their asses off. Any local company that didn’t take the buyout couldn’t compete. All purchase orders & billing went back to the 3 large companies. Side note: the large companies were called “storm chasers” following hail damage. Now through my anon eyes I see HAARP all over this.

This is absolutely true. HVAC companies are being forced to sell out to equity management firms due to impossible insurance/healthcare costs & high taxes. What happens when these equity firms decide to sell & close all these businesses? We can’t fix our HVAC units & will be forced to buy new or go without. It’s another tentacle of the global elite takeover. They have slowly taken over our food, water, travel & monetary/banking industries- all the things we need to survive. I’m not surprised they’ve targeted crucial HVAC and plumbing too.

Can confirm. My husband and I own a HVAC business and this is most CERTAINLY happening all over the country. We haven’t and will never sell out. But most of the companies around us have.

Private equity is a collection of Satan’s-spunk burping demons. Surprise, surprise people like Romney made his fortune in this “business.” Fkn mobsters in corporate attire.

This sounds like too much of a stretch, sorry. It's highly unlikely all those who work in these trades decided to keep quiet about this for this long.

Yep, last month I had a leak in a coil connected to the hvac system. Large heating/ac company told me I needed an entirely new system when I had just replaced the ac unit two years ago. Replacing the coil would cost 45% more than it did before this legislation was passed very quickly last year. I told them to pound sand and found a small ac/heating company that repaired the coil. But I did get loud and tell them it was going to be obvious that our fearless leaders were in on it if we just follow the money and see who owns these heating/ac companies.

I own a small business in AZ. The last 4 years ive had more offers out of nowhere to buy me out or “partner” than i have in my entire 35 years of being in business. A lot of my competition has been bought up and conglomerated. Im still holding out and wont sell to some investment firm or conglomerate. I believe the new Trump economy will be significant and the small business sector will explode. I work alongside AZ HVAC contractors and have seen a decrease in the smaller mom and pop companies and a rise in new corporate owned, fully tooled, new fully logo fleet trucks pitching the finance option for a $20k+ split AC system!

Yep, and any little HVAC shop who want to stay independent is being pushed out of the market, bc the manufacturers are only doing business with the conglomerates. The little guy can no longer afford the “license” fees to purchase parts. The death of small business as we know it.

This is why we must learn to do everything on our own. If your elderly neighbor needs plumbing then you should do the plumbing for them. If they choose to pay you then just consider it a bonus. We can out do these assholes one job at a time!

They can't take your house . Give me a break! They can only take what you owe when you decide to sell your property. It would not be in their best interest to exercise a lein on one mussed payment. Still, I get it big corporations do buy up a lot of different things. But this seems to me to be misinformation with a touch of bullshit.

This is non-sense. Yes, they’re buying companies up and charging crazy prices but there’s always a local business owner that is willing to beat their prices. Also, she lost all credibility when she referred to a lien on a home has “they’re going to take your house away from you.” Not how liens work in the slightest.
