Does Speeding Actually Save Time 🤔

You problem is that you think I’m gonna drive 70 at a 60 zone. I’m gonna drive 200 at a 60 zone

@WillieStrokerWI If the drive was a straight line, yes. But, if you take into account stop lights you could have made, trains you beat, got to a stop sign before a slow driver that wants to turn onto your road, just by going a little faster, untold amounts of saved time

So basically, slow is fast?

Ok, but you can also catch less red lights

People really don't understand that we don't drive over the speed limit to save time, we do it because driving the speed limit is lame.

So what you’re saying is that we need to go 20mph over the limit

Speeding is more effective in low speed areas. School zones are especially good for it. Blowing through a 20 at 40 means you're cutting that part of the commute in half!

Actually statistic shows that people who speed are less likely to crash because they are in the zone and locked in vs someone who is just cruising the speed limit.

If you go from 10mph to 20 that’s 100% faster Cutting your time in half But 60mph to 70 is only 16% faster Saving you way less time

It is risky and put the driver, occupants and roads users in danger.

me after watching this

all you need is to catch one light and it’ll all be worth it

The faster you go the more yellow lights you beat Saving you 5+ minutes Used to deliver packages for law firms when i was younger Driving 15+ above the speed limit between certain lights would guarantee that you could make it through

Cap I turned a hour drive into 60 minutes

Catch up to a speeder at the light and be like:

that's why I always drive 40mph over the limit

this video is retarded. speeding saves time cumulatively because if by going that little bit faster you reach a light just before it turns red, you've just saved yourself 2 whole minutes of waiting.

Yeah, the math checks out on a straight empty road, but in real life with traffic lights and slow drivers ahead it can add up differently.

Everyone speeding is now officially a moron and deserves to be publicly humiliated

Well it does on the autobahn

Who said I was slowing down

Yeah, it’s not just about the speed in particular, it’s beating traffic lights that really reduce travel time. I’ve driven professionally for over 20 years and from my observations, it’s the slow, anxious drivers that pay less attention to others and cause issues.

not when i push 200kmh…

All I’m saying is, my maps show 6:32 when I get in the car, but I usually arrive around 6:29—sometimes even 6:28. Speeding sometimes helps you cross the light before it turns red which save more than 20s or more. Trust me, speeding saves time. Speaking from experience

Not when i drift

Sometimes cars speed past me at a very high rate of speed and then when I get to the red light there are just sitting there waiting for the light to change, next to me. 😂😂

if i do 60 in a school zone im definitely saving time whats your point

A coworker who retired last year used to tell me about being a paramedic decades ago, and how when they'd learn to drive the ambulance the instructor would let them drive however they wanted, then have them do the same route again never breaking the speed limit. He said that most of the time it actually took longer when they'd speed.

This makes no sense. He’s still saving time because he’s driving past the slower drivers. Might not be much, but the video is still wrong.

Nah i race google maps and get early by 2-3 mins.

but what if I go 80km/h in a 50 zone?
