No sir, there shall be no nuclear holocaust. God created the earth to be inhabited (Isaiah 45:18). He is not going to let man destroy it with nuclear weapons. The “plague” in Zechariah 14:12 is the supernatural change of bodies that takes place at the brightness of His coming (see also 2 Thess 2:8). Verse 14 then says Judah also shall fight at Jerusalem and the wealth of the heathen is gathered. In the spiritual dimension of the Lord’s Day that material gold and silver isn’t worth a hill of beans — the true wealth is the souls that belong to Him. The false messiah comes at the sixth trump. The true Christ returns at the seventh. That is what Zechariah 14 is describing — not nuclear weapons. Stay in the Word chapter by chapter and verse by verse. God bless.

Good insight. Could be nuclear Modern State of Israel was only formally named/declared less than 100 years ago, in 1948. The Bible's 'Israel" reference was to a people (breakdown attached). Yet.. the Bible also includes Revelations, as it captures future prophecy too.. On that basis, I've wondered if some of the future references about Israel WILL actually occur within the current country of "Israel" (as it was referring to future events, too), or to the original "Israel" references only. [Easier to understand these chapters with their modern place names. E.g. Ezekiel 38:13 1611KJV: 13 Sheba, and Dedan, and the marchants of Tarshish, with all the young lyons thereof, shall say vnto thee, Art thou come to take a spoile? hast thou gathered thy company to take a praye? to carie away siluer and gold, to take away cattel and goods, to take a great spoile?
