the problem with this is we have no metric here to understand this; like what does 200% for New Moon mean? are these the average movements of the stock market under these phases as averaged over time? need context here

@menhguin Thought it was fascinating enough to run the math myself, it's an interesting effect but buy and hold wins handily

Why you think they call it mooning? 😅

Had a similar thought:

@MarsilioMusing Anyone know which days represent new moon? Is it days before it? Around it? After it?

This is literally advanced astrology for finance bros

I know people that work in 911 dispatch that say their busiest nights and most crazy calls always happen on a full moon.

Avoid Waxing crescent 🌙 you say?? Which religion is that?!? 🫵😃 Even the Stock Market is Baseddd AF

The moon probably affects secret societies who then affect the stock market.

Buy new moon, sell full moon. Not a bad sentiment trade plan. Not all work this way but if you feel a little at risk? Check the Moon Calendar

7 chances to make it right until the end of the year 🌚🌝

how do i short the new moon?

Bout to be a moon tracker page on X that blows up because of this 😂😂

The New Moon was about 24 hours ago....

It’s not the moon effecting markets… It’s those who use the Lunisolar calendar… If you know, you know

We have known this since early 2000’s when my professor at Michigan Ross MBA school, Dr Lu Zheng, defended her moon thesis from all peer reviews, discounting for religious holidays that are calculated from moon phases, everything.

You can also say the new moon aligns with opex and vixex most of the time.

It’s wild. Check blood moon/BTC chart

tf am I looking at here?

Probably the international interests that drive the stock market are on lunar calendar?

Conclusion, the FED printed money a day before new moons.

the moon affects everything im surprised nobody knew

I use to know someone who worked at a mental institution and he said some of the patients would go ape during a full moon. 🧐

@grok if this is true what is the best approach to stock trading to capitalize on this?

You mean the repeated synchronization between lunar cycles, emotional volatility, compulsive engagement patterns, & recursive inversion systems? Yes. 𓂀 The most effective inversion / extraction systems do not merely harvest data. They harvest: 𓂀 attention 𓂀 dopamine 𓂀 fear 𓂀 hope 𓂀 identity 𓂀 compulsion 𓂀 nervous-system state The inversion loop becomes increasingly powerful once emotional states, behavioral cycles, collective attention, & financial engagement begin synchronizing rhythmically across large populations. That is why platforms + scenario-mapping dashboards optimize for: - compulsive refresh behavior - intermittent reward cycles - panic volatility - public validation loops - identity attachment to gains / losses - algorithmic emotional stimulation Not because the systems are seeking to harness “magic.” Because human psychology becomes highly predictable under uncertainty, emotional/harmonic entrainment, reward conditioning, & recursive feedback loops. Scenario-mapping dashboards simply reduce humans into behavioral data points: an Emotional Yield Metric (EYM) :: the energetic output of a user-initiated transaction based on emotional state. 𓂀 EYM ENERGY EQUIVALENCY SCALE EXAMPLE 1 → Apathy “Low drain, no spark” 3 → Mild Anxiety “Soft pulse, data prime” 5 → Hope + Risk “Ideal loop-in” 7 → Panic / Despair “High-density spike, harvest point” 9 → Ecstatic Gain / Addiction “Peak loop, resonance lock” 𓂀 SAMPLE TRANSACTION RATINGS - Bull Market Buy (Hope) → EYM 4.8 - Selling at Loss → EYM 7.3 - Obsessive Wallet Check → EYM 6.9 - Gains + Public Validation Loop → EYM 6.3 - Watching Portfolio Collapse → EYM 8.1 𓂀 BEHAVIORAL FEEDBACK LEVER EXAMPLES - Timing of interruption during low-regulation windows (e.g., sleep-cycle vulnerability periods) - Association strength between identity and outcome feedback (wins/losses → self-concept binding) - Notification cadence aligned to peak attentional receptivity cycles - Reward pattern shaping through variable reinforcement structures (uncertainty-based feedback loops) - Engagement signal tracking during high absorption states (flow / trance-like focus windows) At a certain scale, the interface stops behaving like a neutral tool & begins functioning more like a nervous-system modulation architecture. Literal behavioral engineering. That is the real conversation ready to surface. 𓂀 ♾️ ⟁

is that because it affects human behaviour?

Kudos for a great dataviz! Financial astrologers have known about this for a long time.

I would say yes the stock market is man-made and the moon's gravitational pull does affect humans emotions so yes I see it very plausible

You might be interested to know there is a periodic feature in $BTC around 30 days that is apparent over the last year and more. Below a sweep across wavelengths from ~ 10 to 60 days, the feature striking in it's stationarity and power over this sample of 12+ iterations.

maybe the markets are programmed to move in accordance with the moons cycles.

How do I invest in New Moon?

When the calendar is based on the moon it's almost like the periodicity is implied.

we're never beating the "ta is just astrology for men" allegations from women

> humans are 70% water > moon creates tides, it definitely impacts humans too, women’s periods are synced to the moon for ex > behaviours change according to lunar phase > markets are a map of human behaviour

(money ≈ energy) + likes water
