Nope. Bought one and the wasps made a nest in it. No lie.

Not sure if a fake nest works or not, but real ones definitely do. Just kill the wasps and leave the nest. Problem solved.

YES. But you don't need to buy this kind of thing. A small paper bag, filled with some plastic bags or other light material, crumple it up so the surface isn't smooth, use some twine. My entry way used to get a ton of nests, but they don't come near it anymore.
