Yeah, I noticed that in 1971. We used to learn from paper multiplication tables. Sometimes known as "Times Tables."

I don't understand the fascination with this. This is basic stuff I learned in 3rd grade.

I’m 62. This has been around since I was a child.

Arithmetic. To solve x=9x7, nobody would write out that whole table. Useless wasted effort.

And if you add the digits of each answer, it was always add up to 9. 9x2=18. 1+8=9 Any number multiple by 9 (or a multiple of 9) will always reduce to nine when you keep adding the numbers together. 4893x9=44037 4+4+0+3+7=18. 1+8=9. And....the answer to any number multiplied by nine will always start with one number less. 8x9 will start with 7 7x9 will start with 6 etc. These are all little hints I used to teach my daughter her times tables. It helped when checking her work on tests. Fun math games and patterns.

It's a trick we learned in school. Here's another.. 9x2=18 (1+8=9) 9x3=27 (2+7=9) 9x4=36 (3+6=9) 9x5=45 (4+5=9) Etc.
