Shooting matches can be the most fun you'll ever have or make you hate shooting. 90% of it comes down to who your shooting with. Make fun of it all you want but pushing yourself and others to perform under pressure is never going to detract from your skill set

As a 3Ger I love the haters, “bUt itS NoT rEAl tRaINiNg!” When most of them barely hit the range and when they do, they punch holes in paper at 7 yards or ring steel at 100. Go out and have some fun with guns!

No. This makes me want to go to the range.
