The outer layer of the hoof is made up of Keratin ( same material that makes up human hair and nails ) so it’s like a hair cut / nail clipping for them:) They can feel it but shouldn’t be painful.

Think of it like a horse manicure.

This is a question only horses can answer.

It's more like this bro.......never painful.....if it was painful they wouldn't walk after the process

anybody else find these videos kind of satisfying and it makes you wanna do it too?

Horses can feel the vibrations made by the hammer as it drives nails into insensitive parts of the hoof, but they should never feel any pain When performing correctly, the process of shoeing causes no pain to the animal.

Does your finger nails hurt when you cut them?
