@TomBilyeu Why wouldn't we want to manufacture our own widgets? How would bringing manufacturing effect last stage assembly and AI? If America has a good labor pool, why is it a bad thing we bring manufacturing back.

Your comparative advantage analogy is fine until your finance manager doesn't pay your taxes and pockets the excess. China is a notoriously bad manufacturing partner for sensitive products, just ask Apple. China's 30x boat manufacturing capability is a dangerous advantage to cede to them unless you want to speak Mandarin in 20 years.
