@susannareid100 I think ALL dogs should be on a lead in public places & only let off the lead in designated areas in America. People also need to stop leaving kids alone with dogs, it could be really well behaved & kind, but if a child pulls it’s tail or bites it then the dog is likely to attack

@susannareid100 I have a dog, and I believe we should have a licence to own a dog, we should prove that we can look after and control them. It's getting out of hand with all the dog attacks, they are animals and need to be controlled by competent owners.

@susannareid100 I’m a dog owner. Totally agree! My neighbour has 3 big dogs they are kept in a small space. When taken out it’s off the lead - all you hear is they are friendly. They run around the street which could cause accidents. They don’t have control.

@susannareid100 People don’t research before buying a dog, people are buying dogs they can’t can’t provide for properly & certain dogs will be more suitable for children, especially if rescues. People got dogs in lockdown & they didn’t get proper socialisation or training, which didn’t help

@susannareid100 My dog was extremely nervous & I never let her off the lead. She was horrifically abused before we got her so was terrified of other people but the amount of children that used to come up to her & get in her face was unbelievable! I always explained but it happened a lot.

So many people are telling this man that he doesn’t have control of his own dog. The way the dog disregards his commands and does what he asks shows that this isn’t going to end well for him. The man argues and says the dog obeys him most of the time. But judging by the interactions he has like this one, he is over confident. Especially with a dog who is aggressive and territorial like this one. I never understood why people want aggressive dogs they can’t control, maybe as a status symbol but this is how owners and innocent people get bit. Should owners have to show proof they can control their dog as part of ownership?

Do you love dogs? Then the worst thing you could be doing is BUYING dogs. Female dogs are treated like a pregnancy machine by dog breeders. They are tied to a “breeding rack” (unofficially called “rape rack”) where they are made pregnant every 6 months. When they stop giving children, they are often dumped or killed off. The world of dogs is not the survival of the fittest, it is the survival of the cutest! While cute dogs are bought by people, the not so cute dogs are also dumped/killed off. Remember this powerful line- If you like a flower, you pluck it. If you love a flower, you water it daily. If you love a dog, the best thing you can do is not buy a dog! If you really want a dog, adopt a dog from an animal-shelter! Note: This is Episode 6 of my series called Food for Thought, where I share non-food videos. Most of my videos are on food, but I occasionally make non-food videos.

This is the kind of attitude you often get when politely informing dog owners that their dogs should be kept on a lead on nature reserves.. This was last night at WWT Steart Marshes, where there are signs at every entrance asking people to keep dogs on leads as it's a wildlife sensitive area. (I've cropped the video to not show their faces, my intention is to show the general attitude of some dog owners who do not respect nature reserve rules, of which there are many unfortunately.. 😕)

I have seen a few videos of dogs with possible cerebellar hypoplasia going viral recently. They are portrayed as being normal healthy dogs that are just "happy", when in reality they are disabled. These dogs ARE cute and worthy of love, but we shouldn't be misleading the public that these are normal dogs. Society already struggles to read and understand dog behaviour accurately as it is. I see so many examples of people misunderstanding dog behaviour, in my clinical practice and in comments to videos online. Misunderstanding dog behaviour might seem harmless to most people, but in reality it leads to unhappy dogs. I go into this in detail in my book, humans misreading dog behaviour means they are misunderstood. This is a real problem with dogs that are suffering from mental health conditions like severe anxiety. Dogs Trust UK is advising owner's that although swimming is an enriching activity for your dog to take part in, if you're in doubt about the safety of a body of water, keep your dog out. Algae, warning signs, strong currents and exit points are some of the factors the charity are recommending owner's check before letting their four-legged friend take a dip.

This K9 training class is testing these dogs to see if they know the sound of their owner’s voice. They have the owners leave the room and then each owner from out of sight yells “down!” One by one they go down, only to their specific owner’s voice, although the last two were a little slow especially the little super dog at the end. ❤️ So important for your dogs to obey their owners voice and commands above all voices they hear. We did have a few who asked if they have this class for kids and spouses. 😂 Amazing dogs and wonderful training. Does your dog know your voice? Would he/she respond to only your voice in a crowd full of people?

If not, they just get another dog. A nonprofit called ‘Starts With One Today’ is sounding the alarm: dogs are being abused, neglected, thrown away, sold for drugs, and used as living test kits. This is the disgusting reality of what unchecked homelessness and drug policies have created in California. Dogs are paying the price for failed leadership.

I’m all for Backing the Blue but this really pisses me off. You bet I would do anything to get my dying dog to a veterinarian. If my dog died because of this stop they would have way worse charges on me to worry about. What are your thoughts? 🤔
