Years ago a 3 legged dog I named Chester found me. There was no way to attach a prosthetic but I did have him fitted for a harness that took the stress off his chest and other front leg. He lived 9 years. One of the sweetest dogs I ever had in my family.

when dog get a new leg thing prosthesis, it's weird for them. Feels heavy like what's this? Dog might not wanna move or walk funny, like limping. Sometimes, they might wanna chew or scratch that. Gotta get used to it, takes time.
