Doing #Bitcoin self-custody the smart way is SO important 🧠 If you're constantly (auto-)withdrawing <$100 from exchanges to cold storage, you are setting yourself up for huge future fees 📈 Learn to manage your UTXOs in a few simple steps

This is an awesome graphic and explainer! N.B—sending to yourself can create potential privacy issues in the future. Pro tip: use a real voice for your voiceovers! It comes across more authentic. Shameless plug but I'm happy to lend you my own 🧡 ⚡️

Absolutely, we have a mention of this in the article as well. Thanks for voicing your thoughts!

Props for being one of few exchanges that explain this.

Shoutout to the media/design team at River for the excellent visuals here!

Wonderful to see this!!! Still so many folks not understanding each send, no matter where, creates its own uxto. Like if using single dollars. You send off a single dollar (uxto) to cold storage. Then later you want to send 100 dollars. That new send uses the previous 100 uxtos each with their own fee (sorta, fees are space based not amount based.... a stack of 100 singles takes up a lot more space than a sole 100 dollar bill). Only after it lands as a 100 is that a new single uxto. 😇

Love you guys. Such a great company all around and it shows. Your faithful customers (🙋♂️) feel that you genuinely want the best for us. Keep up the great and high quality work! @River #RiverFinancial #bitcoin

0.1 BTC transfer transactions or higher should be the norm

Are there any Utxo’s created when sending coin from a ledger to another cold storage wallet?

This is important. Love the key points. 1.Moving small amounts of bitcoin(UTXOs) into self-custody can result in exorbitant fees when you spend that bitcoin later. 2.UTXO management is key. 3.Consolidate UTXOs when network fees are low. Withdraw larger amounts from exchanges

instead of waiting to accumulate a larger numbers of sats on the exchange before sending to coldstorage; could one continue to withdraw after each purchase but send to the same receiving address?
