The easiest way to spot a view botter. They start up their stream, and in seconds, they hit peak viewership. goes from like 0 to 10k or some shit. That is not normal or natural.

i was warning ppl about this since 2021 (tweet unrelated). twitch knew. just everyone was pumping numbers so shamelessly since sponsors were clueless and twitch needed the nunbers to show traction. now everyone knows which is why we have winter.

I've seen others talk about this as well. How there are 3rd parties that boost a streamer just so that the streamer looks like a good RoI to sponsors so that streamer gets paid more or get bigger offers from the sponsors. This is not why Twitch is cracking down though.

The bigger problem is that evidence suggests the viewbot services adapted to Twitch's changes within 48 hours of them going live and everything's "back to normal" for them. If viewbotting keeps up, I suspect sponsors will walk. They already are in some niches of twitch.

welp, it is kinda same thing in russia, 750k "viewers" on slay streamer awards was insane and aftermath of earlier viewbotting issue made by maddison aka russian sam hyde has created another big piece of internet culture and so many streamers(even trixie vox on vtuber side) melt.

Yeah, I can see that. For a while, like every stream I did on Twitch, I would have a bot account in chat send a message advising chatbot services. I’ve banned so many of those ad bots at this point that now it’s only periodically they show up.

The twitch tracker, I believe that's the site that shows the viewer graph right? Well you can see if they are bots because bots will join all at once, or in large instant chunks. Actual viewers join more naturally, gradually. You can also see it with raid numbers.

Just wait until chatbotting becomes a thing.

Twitch isn’t going to care, the sponsorships are between the streamer and the sponsor. Twitch wouldn’t be getting a cut of it

Anyone can be a view botter, anyone can fall victim of view botting. It has happened to me. I personally don’t like the idea of view botting, and I’d sometime get bots entering my streams. Once a bot even promoted view botting in my live chat.

When I see a large viewer streamer, but Chat doesn't talk, it disinterests me. Twitch interactions are the while reason for the platform. Otherwise, download VODs on YouTube.

It´s a fraud

There are sponsors who do the viewbotting themselves to increase visibility and make whatever their thing is to seem more interesting / popular.

What sucks is, from what we can tell, Twitch failed at getting rid of viewbots and instead just wiped critical real human lurkers numbers from CVC numbers. That decimated small streamers pursuing affiliate and partner. The most vulnerable were hurt, but the cheaters unaffected.

I think here soon there will be a massive crackdown on fraud from the feds. i fully expect viewbotting streamers to catch felony fraud charges before 2030. i bet there will be a massive wave of it

What's crazy is twitch rolled out all these changes and cutting lurkers but people are still view botting and getting away with it.
