‼️BACKSTORY‼️ Police in Irvington Township arrested an assistant manager of a Dollar Tree store following a violent altercation with a customer on Thursday, May 26. According to the Irvington Police Department, officers responded to reports of a fight at the Dollar Tree located at 886 Springfield Avenue around 7:09 p.m. Upon arrival, they encountered a male customer and a female employee engaged in a heated verbal exchange outside the store’s entrance. The customer, who sustained a minor eye injury, was treated at the scene after the assistant manager, identified as 29-year-old Alliah Vasquez of Irvington, allegedly sprayed him with pepper spray during a physical confrontation. A 13-minute video recorded by a witness captured the incident, showing Vasquez grabbing the customer, repeatedly punching him, and pulling his hair as they moved from inside the store to the front entrance. The footage depicts the customer pleading with Vasquez to release his hair, raising his hands in surrender, and shouting, “I will not hit her.” Near the entrance, Vasquez forced the customer to the ground, prompting other employees and bystanders to intervene and separate them. Following an investigation, Irvington Police arrested Vasquez and charged her with aggravated assault. She was booked and released pending a court appearance, according to authorities. The customer’s identity has not been disclosed, and no serious injuries were reported.
