Don Rickles in 1989 still doesn’t know how to take it easy. He sits down and immediately starts swinging at Johnny’s 26 years on the show, the competition, and Ed just for existing. The man had been doing this for decades and the energy never dropped. Johnny just sits...

Don Rickles finds out Ed McMahon got engaged and immediately treats it like a national emergency. Without warm up or mercy he goes into rapid destruction of the girl, the wedding night, Ed’s hairline and the fact that Johnny and Don weren’t invited to the party. Ed just sits there taking it while Johnny laughs himself sick. This is what peak insult comedy looked like when a master was completely unleashed.

Don Rickles gets the floor and goes straight at Frank Sinatra. He doesn’t ease in. He just starts firing. Sinatra is sitting there taking it, laughing, while Rickles tells him the whole thing is over and keeps going. This is one of those pure Rickles moments where the biggest name in the room still ends up the one getting destroyed.

Rickles walks out right after Johnny finishes “Rhinestone Cowboy” and treats the whole performance like a personal insult seminar. He goes straight for the outfit, the song, the cowboy image, then starts clearing the room one line at a time. Johnny is already laughing too hard to fight back and Ed is just sitting there taking body shots. This is peak mid-70s Rickles with zero warm up, pure chaos from the first second.

Don Rickles Has the guest laughing so hard they can barely stay on the couch. Johnny tries to keep the interview alive but he can't contain it as well. This is what the Tonight Show looked like when Rickles was on the panel and the roast was the show. The other guests never stood a chance.

Don Rickles going on The View and immediately roasting the hosts about his new book is hilarious. I would have sat there terrified if he started talking about me like that on live daytime TV. Don Rickles: She's a very unassuming and you know she's a Valium and human sick and all. You know, I can go crazy with a show and say that was a great show and she'd say listen just relax and we are going to go to dinner, just relax. Don Rickles: If we lived in Hollywood in a box she'd mind, but meanwhile we're doing pretty good and this is a big shot for me. Barbara Walters: Is there something you wish you would have said to Barbara if you had written or to all of us? Don Rickles: Read the book. 🤣🤣🤣

Rickles doesn’t wait for the chair. He walks on in 1991, looks at Johnny’s jacket and says “Are you the Governor of Guam?” Then “Hong Kong Charlie.” The roast is already over and Carson hasn’t even sat down. Don spends the next five minutes explaining why Johnny is finished, Leno will be selling peanuts and Barbara’s jewellery is directing ships at night. Carson lands one clean shot “Where you gonna work when I leave?” and Rickles actually laughs. This is what it looked like when two people who liked each other were allowed to draw blood on live television. Late night used to feel this dangerous.

Most people remember Don Rickles for the insults. This is the one where he drops the act. After roasting half the dais he looks at 81-year-old George Burns and talks about watching him walk into the country club with his head high, still sharp, still living. No punchline, just real respect. It’s the closest Rickles ever came to getting soft on camera… and somehow it hits harder than any of the jokes.

Dylan Mulvaney can’t sing. His voice is reedy. He doesn’t care about the choreo, he is just there pretending that’s what women jump up and down like. He overacts. And a spectacular female singer and dancer sits at home while he is on Broadway.

Don Rickles showed up on a local news show in 1985 and immediately started acting like he was being held hostage. Roasting the host, the show, the entire setup no warm-up, no filter. This is what pure insult comedy looked like when a master refused to play nice for daytime TV. Still undefeated

With Don Rickles the real gold hits when the physical comedy takes over. The exaggerated leans, the mock despair, the way he swings his whole torso toward Johnny or Ed the second a punchline lands. That wide-eyed “are you serious?” look… the sudden grimace then the little satisfied smirk after a particularly brutal line aimed at Johnny. Whenever Carson tries to steer things or ask a straight question, Rickles answers with that perfect deadpan to explosive shift. Ed just sits there taking the hits while Rickles turns the entire couch into his personal stage. And somehow under all the abuse the affection is still there, those quick glances back at Johnny like the two of them are in on the same joke.

Don Rickles giving Lou Brock baseball tips in 1977 is unreal. He starts teaching him how to steal a base and somehow turns it into a full roast of everyone on the stage. The way he demonstrates the lead-off while still insulting Johnny is pure chaos. I would have evaporated if a comedian started coaching me like that on live TV. Only Rickles could go that hard and still leave the guy laughing and feeling respected.

Don Rickles on the Dean Martin Show is pure chaos as he held everyone hostage from the first second. Dean introduces him as the Sultan of Insults and Rickles immediately turns around and starts roasting Dean, Pat Boone, Ricardo Montalban, Danny Thomas, and half the room. He treats A-list stars like they’re regulars at a late night club, and they love every second of it. This is the exact energy that made him untouchable.

Marco Rubio: I never took Pete Hegseth for a cat guy. One of Pete’s cats, oftentimes I’ll get home at night and the cat is just sitting on my porch, looking at me like, “What are you doing here?” To be honest with you, it’s a very arrogant cat. He’s on my porch acting like, “What are you doing in my house?” And it’s like, no—your house is two doors down. But the cat just looks at you. Usually a cat, you approach it, takes off running. He just sits there, tail going like this, staring at you like, “What’s up?”

Don Rickles sitting across from Joan Rivers while she’s hosting The Tonight Show is dangerous. He doesn’t ease in. He starts roasting her outfit, her marriage, her workaholic habits, and her whole life within the first minute. Joan is one of the few people who can actually keep up with him, and even she spends half the time just trying not to fall out of the chair laughing. Two of the fastest, meanest, most affectionate comics of all time going head to head with zero safety net. If this isn't what peak chemistry looks like.

This is an absolute MUST watch. Listen to this man speak and describe the details of what he saw. This is what little pieces of shit like Owen Jones and others downplayed and dismissed. What the media and government and police in the UK allowed to go on and on for three fucking years. Look at how he can’t hold back the tears when he describes what was going on. It’s heartbreaking. It didn’t end in October 7. The nightmare continued for three years to this day for every Jew all around the world. We’ve even had “Jews” defending it. There is no curse on this country that is harsh enough for what they allowed and supported to happen to the Jewish community.

Cringe and embarrassing is an understatement for what this is. The topic was done ZERO favors, and it is beyond me how people just think this is the right path for anyone to take. (h/t Red Panda Koala for the clips)

On Father’s Day, this dad went back to the spot where his wife and kids were killed years ago. He stood there in the woods… and found this. The tire from the car his wife was driving that day — still there after all this time. The pain never leaves. The memories hit harder than anything on days like this. Heartbroken for every father carrying a loss no one should ever have to bear. This is what real strength looks like — facing it head on. Prayers up for all the dads hurting today. 💔
