If it were up to me, every single euro of that money would be used for reparations and for the reconstruction of Ukraine. Many people in Europe are skeptical about Russia's intentions to attack Europe. They believe that Putin (Russia) will be satisfied with just Ukraine. That is why even some politicians and intellectuals voice the call to "give Ukraine to Putin" and thus "save Europe." This outlook is wrong. And it is very dangerous, above all for European countries. The truth is that Putin has turned Russia into a war machine that is very difficult to stop. And he does not want to stop it because the current regime survives only thanks to war. Arguments on this subject are presented by the OpenMinds research project: ◾️ Russia has switched to a war economy, and the reversal process is extremely difficult; ◾️ growing amounts of intelligence indicate hybrid, cyber, and information operations, as well as sabotage attempts in Europe; ◾️ consolidation, increasing influence, and coordination of the authoritarian axis and its satellite states. ‼️ But there is another important argument that is often overlooked: ◾️ Russia's preparation of a new militarized generation. Moscow has normalized war for younger generations of Russians. Russian propaganda has already turned Ukrainians into "Nazis and fascists" - subhumans who must be killed. Now it is doing the same with Europeans. A new OpenMinds investigation, "Kids with Drones," analyzed how stories involving children are spread on Russian social media to promote war. The most important findings include the integration of drone piloting programs into schools, camps, and even kindergartens, alongside the normalization of a narrative of existential confrontation with the West. OpenMinds analyzed 30,000 posts across 4,000 Telegram channels. Here are the conclusions: ◾️ In just the first seven months of 2025, there were 8,600 unique posts about involving children in work/training with drones - six times more than in the whole of 2022. This means that it is not only the existence of such programs that is important, but also the work of information campaigns to normalize them in society and create a new paradigm of upbringing. ◾️ More than 2,000 posts in July set a record since the start of the full-scale invasion. One of the most widely shared stories was the opening of infrastructure for drone 'competitions' in six kindergartens in Perm. ◾️ It's not only about Russian children. Drone programs are also being promoted among Ukrainian children in the occupied territories — 963 posts were found about tournaments and learning sessions, often organized by Russian military personnel. ◾️ About one-third of the posts relate to education - lessons and courses ranging from kindergarten classes to the "Cadres for UAVs" federal program within the framework of University 2035. Where we are now and what can we expect in the coming months within the context of Russia's war in Ukraine: ◾️Ukraine and the world continue to await tensely for the results of the US elections. In the meantime, Ukraine and Russia continue active diplomatic actions to consolidate support for their allies. ◾️ Russia's primary focus is on discrediting Ukraine in the West, dividing our allies, and interfering in the US elections to divide Americans and increase instability. ◾️ During his visit to the US, President Zelensky met with President Biden and had meetings with presidential candidates Kamala Harris and Donald Trump. ◾️ Ukraine continues to destroy Russian military depots and military logistics; Ukraine produces its own drones and other weapons. ◾️ Russia increases its weapons and drones production as much as it can, despite sanctions. It uses weapons supplied by Russian allies - Iran and North Korea. There are reports that production of Russian Shahed drones has exceeded Russian original plans. ◾️ Russia is intensifying its strikes on Ukrainian cities, deliberately targeting apartment blocks, hospitals, and nursing homes. Its main purpose is to cause as much panic as possible, intimidate Ukrainians, and force them to leave their lands and homes. Strikes are unfortunately likely to continue, especially for Sumy and Kharkiv. Zaporizhzhia is now within the range of Russian KAB bombs, so it is likely to be under constant strikes as well. ◾️Despite the lack of "cannon fodder", Putin doesn't dare yet to announce open mobilization in Russia and increases hidden mobilization instead: increases payments for signing army contracts and recruits soldiers from other countries, including countries of Africa. Russia is increasing its presence there at an alarming rate which is very dangerous for this region. ◾️ In the coming month, the Russians will probably try to solve the "Kursk issue" at any cost. The "deadline" is likely set before the US elections at most but a desirable timeline for them is before the BRICS summit in Kazan (22-24 October) - to demonstrate to the BRICS guests that Russia is in control of the situation and is a serious partner. Otherwise, the situation when a part of Russia's territory is under Ukrainian control (when Putin had the intention to capture Ukraine "in three days" almost three years ago), is rather humiliating for Russia. During August and September, Russians have accumulated forces, have reformed and will now try to counterattack our troops. How the situation in Kursk region will develop depends on many factors and on the decisions that AFU leaders will make. ◾️ One of the key elements of these upcoming months are the elections in Moldova and Georgia at the end of October, where the influence of Russia and pro-Russian forces is enormous. ◾️We are likely to hear increased nuclear threats and other escalation rhetoric from Russia. ◾️Ukraine will face further problems due to electricity shortage. ◾️ Due to the escalation in the Middle East and the US elections, Ukraine is fading from the information field, which Russia is actively using, knowing that its crimes against Ukrainian civilians will not make the headlines in the Western media. Accordingly, many people outside Ukraine have the impression that the situation is getting better. But this is not the case at all: the situation is very tough and complicated. And it will continue to get worse. The largest war in Europe since the Second World War continues to rage on. The whole world is waiting for the US elections. The situation of strategic uncertainty will last at least until November. It is crucial to go through this period with a cool head, keeping the focus on Ukraine and showing Russia that the West does not withdraw its support. I'd like to end with a reminder of these Putin's words, which he said in June 2024. Nothing has changed for him: he intends to wage a war until the end. And it must become his own end.

"To end this war and go the diplomatic way, I don't need all this historical sh*t, because it's just a postponement," President Zelenskyy said on the potential negotiations with Putin. Other statements by the President of Ukraine from the interview with British journalist Piers Morgan: ◾️ Yes, people are tired. Yes, people want to finish with this tragedy. We want to stop Putin and end this war as quickly as possible, but in the right way, not losing dignity in any way. ◾️ Russians try to sell to their audience the successful steps, but they can't, really. Even the very nationalistic, very radical part of Russia doesn't trust their government and Putin because they see that there are no successful steps on the battlefield. ◾️ If the war is in Europe, I think peace negotiations have to be in Europe. The next meeting will also be in Switzerland. ◾️ We had two groups - military and diplomatic. The military group spoke about how to develop a monitoring mission for a ceasefire when it comes, when the political side opens those possibilities. ◾️ The result is closer in the military direction. We will have a paper where all the details will be written about how to monitor immediately after a ceasefire. In the political direction, it's more difficult. We don't have the same view. Even trilaterally, we have three different views on the land question. This is not simple. We try to be very constructive. ◾️ Russia's proposal for Ukrainians is to withdraw our forces from part of the Donetsk region, just to withdraw by ourselves, and the war will stop. But we can't just withdraw. It's unbelievable how that can be. It's our territory, and the temporarily occupied territory is also our territory. It's not just occupied, it's temporarily occupied. We are not recognizing it judicially, and we are not recognizing it de facto in any papers. Yes, it's temporarily occupied territories. It's very painful for us, but let's stop where we stand. And this is already a big compromise. ◾️ Donbas is a part of our independence. It's a part of our values. It's not just about the land, about territories. It's about people. It's about membership, and also about strategy for defending our country. For today, with all respect to the powerful American president and to America as a whole, nobody can give us a strong word that Putin will not come again. We need strong security guarantees so that the rest of the world, or some countries, will be ready to respond to Putin if he comes back with his aggression, or when he comes again. ◾️ It's not about me. We have to think about the next generation. We have to think about the next people who will sit in our chairs, and they have to manage this. We can't give them an empty paper. We need strong security guarantees. ◾️ I can't trust the person who killed so many people in Ukraine and who began a full-scale invasion against my nation. But in any way, it's not about trust. It's about deciding how to end the war. ◾️ I'm not sure that our teams can really decide the question of the land. At the end, it's our people who accept the peace deal or not. It's not up to anybody in the world. It's up to the Ukrainian people. ◾️ We speak about security guarantees because we don't trust Russians. Personally Putin, and personally Russians. It's not just about Putin. It's about the system, about people around him. Even when another person is in his place, and other people are in my place. It means that we have to speak about institutional trust. Trust not each other, but the institution of security guarantees.

We want to stop Putin and end this war as quickly as possible, but in the right way, not losing dignity in any way. ◾️ Russians try to sell to their audience the successful steps, but they can't, really. Even the very nationalistic, very radical part of Russia doesn't trust their government and Putin because they see that there are no successful steps on the battlefield. ◾️ If the war is in Europe, I think peace negotiations have to be in Europe. The next meeting will also be in Switzerland. ◾️ We had two groups - military and diplomatic. The military group spoke about how to develop a monitoring mission for a ceasefire when it comes, when the political side opens those possibilities. ◾️ The result is closer in the military direction. We will have a paper where all the details will be written about how to monitor immediately after a ceasefire. In the political direction, it's more difficult. We don't have the same view. Even trilaterally, we have three different views on the land question. This is not simple. We try to be very constructive. ◾️ Russia's proposal for Ukrainians is to withdraw our forces from part of the Donetsk region, just to withdraw by ourselves, and the war will stop. But we can't just withdraw. It's unbelievable how that can be. It's our territory, and the temporarily occupied territory is also our territory. It's not just occupied, it's temporarily occupied. We are not recognizing it judicially, and we are not recognizing it de facto in any papers. Yes, it's temporarily occupied territories. It's very painful for us, but let's stop where we stand. And this is already a big compromise. ◾️ Donbas is a part of our independence. It's a part of our values. It's not just about the land, about territories. It's about people. It's about membership, and also about strategy for defending our country. For today, with all respect to the powerful American president and to America as a whole, nobody can give us a strong word that Putin will not come again. We need strong security guarantees so that the rest of the world, or some countries, will be ready to respond to Putin if he comes back with his aggression, or when he comes again. ◾️ It's not about me. We have to think about the next generation. We have to think about the next people who will sit in our chairs, and they have to manage this. We can't give them an empty paper. We need strong security guarantees. ◾️ I can't trust the person who killed so many people in Ukraine and who began a full-scale invasion against my nation. But in any way, it's not about trust. It's about deciding how to end the war. ◾️ I'm not sure that our teams can really decide the question of the land. At the end, it's our people who accept the peace deal or not. It's not up to anybody in the world. It's up to the Ukrainian people. ◾️ We speak about security guarantees because we don't trust Russians. Personally Putin, and personally Russians. It's not just about Putin. It's about the system, about people around him. Even when another person is in his place, and other people are in my place. It means that we have to speak about institutional trust. Trust not each other, but the institution of security guarantees.

Some context for this video: ◾️Internet shutdowns are becoming increasingly common in Russia: In June 2025, there were 655 Internet shutdowns; In July-August 2025, there were over 5,000 shutdowns. Whole Russian regions are left without Internet, including state, banking services, online payments, taxi orders, etc. etc. Sometimes, the reason given for the shutdown are drone attacks on Russia. ◾️This has already left to a huge outflow of money from the Russian banks - people don't have access to their own accounts during shutdowns, and they need cash to pay for goods and services when cashless payments are not available. Over the summer, Russians withdrew about 700 billion rubles from their banking accounts, further undermining the Russian banking system. ◾️However, Russian authorities promised that state-owned and/or controlled media, propaganda resources and Russian social media will be available during shutdowns. Unlike them, there have already been several shutdowns of YouTube in Russia, for example. ◾️In Russian Kamchatka, the whole region was left without Internet for 48 hours in September. The authorities said it was due to repair works and that critical services would work using satellite connection. ◾️Russian MPs have already made suggestions to make Internet shutdowns a regular occurrence. So far, this has not gone any further, but these ideas are floating around and can be turned into law at any point. ◾️Russia has also introduced its own messenger called MAX. It is developed by the state. Since September, it must be pre-installed on all mobile devices sold in Russia (and users report that it downloads itself on devices they already own, as well). Online state-provided services in Russia now work through confirmation codes via MAX alone. The messenger gathers not just basic personal information about each user but saves text input history even on unsent messages. The developers (aka the Russian state) have access to all chats and calls, and it can only work using a Russian or Belarusian phone number. ◾️Since an increasing number of foreign websites are now blocked in Russia (including Instagram and X, for example), VPNs are becoming more and more popular. A lot of media projects are selling their own VPNs now, promising full access to the Internet and easy use. Footage of joint Russian-Iranian drills just two weeks ago, February 19, 2026. When Iran turned to Putin for help, it was refused, even though Russia called Iran an important ally and signed a strategic partnership agreement with it a year ago. Russia used Iran as a tool to put pressure on the West and destabilize the region: ◾️ Iran supplied Russia with thousands of Shahed-136 attack drones and technology for their production on Russian territory under the name "Geran-2." ◾️ Iran supplied Russia with short-range ballistic missiles. The total value of contracts for the supply of missiles and drones at the beginning of 2023 was estimated at $1.75-3 billion. ◾️ In return, Russia supplied its own weapons to Iran, including air defense systems and aircraft, which, as we can see, did not help Tehran. ◾️ Russia helped Iran develop its nuclear program to increase instability in the region and strengthen the "anti-Western coalition." ◾️ Using its influence, Russia maintained its military bases in Syria and shared military expenses with Tehran. ◾️ Iran, which has been under sanctions for decades, helped Russia circumvent sanctions: the development of the North-South Transport Corridor through Iran allowed Russia to export goods bypassing European ports. ◾️ Iran helped Russia master methods of covert financial transactions and parallel imports. Russia's main objective now is destabilization in the region, prolonging the war, driving up oil prices, and diverting financial and military aid away from Ukraine. ‼️ It is likely that Russians helped Iran develop a plan for strikes against the Persian Gulf countries. It is only natural that Ukrainians are now being asked for help in defending against Iranian drones. Ukraine has unique experience in countering Shahed drones. And Ukraine knows very well what Russia is like, what methods it uses, and what its goals are. What finally needs to be understood about Russia is that it has never been a reliable partner! Its partnership is rhetorical. Russia pursues exclusively its own interests, setting up, deceiving, and abandoning its so-called allies and violating the terms of agreements and deals.
