@bomani_jones There’s one other black resident in a surgical specialty which I won’t name but I gave that brother a chin up nod and he ain’t returned it and I ain’t spoken to him since. We the only two black male surgical residents in the whole hospital.

No one one ever told me to do this, and yet I always do. It's instinctual. Not returning the nod is weird..

Visited Eastern Europe country w/a .000% of Blk w/3 friends - all of us Blk/Brn. Saw another Blk guy there & we all gave him the nod, of which he reciprocated. He was the only one we saw the entire 4 day trip. Point is … we all we got like y’all said. ✊🏽✊🏽

@bomani_jones My dad use to nod all the time to other brothers, and I would ask if he knew them. His response was always no. Once I got older I understood why he did it. I also understand why I do it now.
