tl;dr - don't buy anything from Asus. they have the most awful customer service I've EVER experienced in my life. I have 2 screens which are the same model (VG279QM), which suffered from the same issue after barely 2 years of owning the screens: the screens had a severe brightness reduction (more than 50%~). I tried everything I possibly could to fix it myself. I then opened an RMA to Asus on 7th of Dec. 2025 for both screens, warranty still valid. A month(!) later (4th of Jan. 2026) I get a technician coming to my house to fix only 1 monitor of the 2. He replaces the monitor's back panel card + the monitor panel itself, the issue remains. I tell him 'the power brick wasn't replaced, can't that cause this?' and he goes 'there's no way that's the source of the problem', followed by saying that it looks like the screen is fine. It's obviously not fine and I told him that, he consulted with a manager which said it's fine and resolved (lol). I had to go back and forth with them and I didn't let go. The technician came back the next day (5th of Jan) to 'fix' the 2nd monitor (he didn't actually do anything to it). He took videos of the screen when it's on, and had one of his managers literally SHOUT at me shamelessly (she was the karen I talked about on my previous post here btw) because I asked him to take off his shoes before entering my room (I have a carpet). He then involved another mangager that saw the issue and said 'I've never seen anything like this' and then told the technician to 'bring them to the lab'. I get only 1 monitor back 3 days later (8th of Jan.) and guess what was the solution? the power brick. Now I'm waiting for the 2nd to come by, surely it will return functional...SURELY. Bottom line, Asus has an ABYSMAL customer service & an abysmal technical knowledge in the products they support. Here's a clip of me even talking about this from my stream BEFORE the screens were picked up from my place (stream 4th of Jan. - screens picked up 5th of Jan.) & pictures showing the issue they were referring to. 🤯Mediterranean Eggplant Pocket Bake If you love easy mediterranean recipes, and want a healthy weeknight dinner, you’ve got to try this amazing bake - these come out so good, so saucy, so cheesy, and so easy to make. Ingredients: 2-3 medium eggplants, sliced 1/4–1/3 inch thick Olive oil Salt For the filling: 1lb 80/20 ground beef 1/3 yellow onion, finely diced 2 garlic cloves, minced 1/2 tbsp onion powder 1 tbsp granulated garlic 1/2 tbsp sweet paprika 1 tbsp fresh parsley Salt & pepper Optional (if not low carb): 1/2 cup uncooked rice For assembly: 1/2 jar marinara or pasta sauce Sliced or shredded mozzarella cheese Chili flakes Fresh basil Shredded parmesan Here’s how I made it: 1️⃣ Preheat oven to 425°F. 2️⃣ Slice 2-3 eggplants into 1/4 to 1/3 inch thick slices. Lay them out on an oven-safe tray without overlapping. Season with salt and drizzle with olive oil. You may need 2 trays. 3️⃣ Roast for 18–20 mins. 4️⃣ While that cooks, make your beef mixture. In a bowl, combine 1lb ground beef with diced onion, the spices above, salt, and pepper. Mix well. If using rice, add 1/2 cup uncooked rice here. 5️⃣ Form the mixture into 6-8 equal patties or balls. 6️⃣ Remove eggplant from the oven and let cool for about 1 min. Take one slice and lay it across your palm, then place another slice across it in an “X” shape. 7️⃣ Add one beef patty in the center, then fold each side over to create a pocket. Repeat for all. 8️⃣ In an oven-safe dish, spread about half a jar of marinara on the bottom. Place the eggplant pockets on top. Cover with a lid. Bake at 425°F for 22–24 mins. 9️⃣ Remove, top with mozzarella and chili flakes, then broil for 2–3 mins until melted and bubbly.
