In my 29 years of marriage we had meaningful discussions everyday. We were both strong minded people🤭. Only 5 of those discussions did we use raised voices and on 2 occasions one of us stormed out- Me😂. I can 💯say that no matter how heated it got or who negotiated the best we always told each other Love You at the end.

This also means becoming a person that someone can productively argued with. This used to be a struggle for me but I learned in most cases understanding the other person was more important than 'winning" the fight

In 37 years I've lost 2 arguments, because I was substantively wrong and she called me on it. I never understood this whole "she's always right" stupidity. BECAUSE we have open and honest dialog, are allowed to express our feelings, as well as the facts, we work things out well.

This is truth. In my youth, I thought disagreement meant someone wasn’t right for me; now I’ve learned that it means I’m being presented the opportunity to grow. Choose someone you can grow with. God bless my wife for having the patience to challenge my liberal views just enough to get me to research and think for myself. We were married 3 years later.
