mining 101: there is a block reward. people burn electricity to try to earn that block reward. if ASICs get better, difficulty goes up. the network still burns electricity until profit margins approach 0. better ASICs *don’t* decrease electricity use.

@PrestonPysh The amount of energy necessary to generate a given hash rate has fallen from 1250 J/TH to 21.5 J/TH in approximately 8 years ~ 98% reduction in energy use for an equivalent amount of security. Network efficiency is radically improving. See pages 12-13.

@PrestonPysh > equivalent amount of security Bro, the *amount of hashes* or the energy to generate one is not a metric of security. It is the amount of money/resources (electricity+hw) spent that defines security. The number of hashes is immaterial. After a year, you should have learnt this.

Coaches Energy I often times hear players getting criticized for their energy and how they respond/act during games. I’ve started to realize, especially while coaching youth sports, that most players are going to take on the energy of the coach and sometimes the parents in the crowd. Personally, I’m trying to do a better job in training and coaching of putting some of my natural emotion aside and locking in one what I feel the players need at that moment. Do they need support, motivation, to be challenged, a sense of urgency. It’s tough bc our job as coaches/trainers is to get the best out of the players in the short term and long term. Sometimes our energy, words, actions don’t align with those 2 goals. Keep getting better!!

I have to say it. I’ve always loved how honest William is, but today I loved him even more. Hearing him say, “I like this kind of event because, I don’t have to prove anything… I don’t need to fake anything” why? Because his true fans were there. It’s not just about the event, it’s about that sense of peace, of being in a space where he feels safe enough to just exist as himself. And that doesn’t come out of nowhere. It quietly reflects how, at some point, things might not have felt this easy when even showing certain sides of yourself could feel heavy or misunderstood. That’s why today felt different. He was open, relaxed, just sharing about his new car, his future plans, the dream of going abroad, his beloved partner, his members, and everything he genuinely wanted to talk about. No pressure, just him, being himself. Fans are supposed to be a safe place for artists. A place where they don’t feel judged, targeted, or like they have to hold back. We should be the space where they can come and simply be themselves… where they feel love not only for who they are, but also for everything and everyone they care about, just like he once said. I paid $90 for my visit at a private clinic that spoke English AND you won’t believe how much the medicine cost. Mind you, this was a PRIVATE ENGLISH-SPEAKING CLINIC which means they definitely ripped me off on the price since I’m a tourist. Popped up for a minute just to listen, heard the guy talking shit, then they wanted me up, tried to explain why he was talking shit about his RIDICULOUS THEORY of a short squeeze, he wouldn’t let me explain because he knew he was wrong and was just spouting poop. She’s so right here. So right. People do not want a return to how things used to be. They want something better. I just wish she could condense what she said here in a minute and 30 seconds into 20 seconds or 30 seconds or 40 seconds, so people don’t tune out. She is so thoughtful and so deliberative in everything she says that she loses people in trying to make her point. I think this is why so many accuse her of this “word salad” nonsense. It’s not because she doesn’t know what she’s talking about, it’s because her prosecutor mind weighs the weight of every single word as she’s delivering a point. I don’t know how she retrains herself, but in this ecosystem she has to be able to just deliver the line, the thought, in a way that is concise. Like it or not, people have no attention span anymore.

You have to be very careful when listening to tour players talk about their own feels & what they do during the golf swing Don't get me wrong, some are VERY good at explaining in detail what they are doing & feeling, but some don't actually have a clue. They are just VERY GOOD at golf & don't really know how they do it. This is a prime example where Tiger is saying he's not a "Spot Chipper", then on another video he says he likes hitting to a "Spot" So which one is it? Remember, these guys are ELITE at playing the game of golf & getting the ball in the hole in less shots than everyone else They are not always the best at accuratly articulating what they are really trying to do There was a video of Tiger a while back where he was saying the club head moves first in the golf swing... No it doesn't. There's a pressure shift into the trail side first... Tiger won with 4 different swings. He's just THAT GOOD We as coaches are the ones who explain things better than a tour pro. The tour pros job is to shoot low scores
