I agree to an extent. True, gossip is destruction. However, there is an aspect of this concept being used by the enemy to cover sin. For example, a couple's rising domestic violence concerns are covered by the saying, "what happens in our house stays in our house. Keep people out of our business." The "no one needs to know narrative" is keeping some people stuck in sin. Instead of adopting this attitude, maybe ask questions to SEE how you can help. Not everyone is trying to spread gossip. Some are crying out in concern but don't know what to do on their own.
