I am actually disgusted by this. I’ve had so many teachers that changed my life and put me in the right path, without them I don’t want to think about where I would be. These teachers are sharing how much money they have in their accounts on the par day. In a society where our teachers are guiding the minds of the future, the people who will be helping us when we are later in life. I don’t think they are appreciated enough nor is the compensation package up to par. It perplexes me how they they have to spend a crazy amount of money for their education, only to struggle to get by with a smile while still being generous enough to pay for the items our children need without being reimbursed for much of it. I think it’s time we create a change, I don’t think it’s fair we expect so much of them and they give so much to us only to relieve so little. I know people are going to argue with me and say well they chose to do it so if they aren’t happy with the pay, they can get another job. While that’s true, we would be in bad shape however if they ever chose to do that. Who would be teaching our kids and preparing them for the future. I think we focus too much on things that aren’t and shouldn’t be our priority while neglecting and overlooking a major issue right below our noses. Their jobs are important and our kids would fail without them so why are we treating them like they aren’t important? It’s because it’s easy for us to think of them as our babysitters for half the day. We treat them like Nannie’s who only watch our kids while we go to work and do things we enjoy. Maybe it’s time we revisit our roles in helping them achieve our goals.

This morning, I joined fellow Jamaicans at the National Emancipation and Independence Thanksgiving Service as we officially began our Emancipation and Independence Week. I read the First Lesson from Nehemiah 2, a passage that speaks to faith, purpose and the determination to rebuild. As Nehemiah declared, “The God of heaven will give us success; we His servants will arise and build.” As we celebrate this special week, may we continue to honour those who came before us by serving one another, strengthening our communities and doing our part to build a better Jamaica for everyone.

They don’t oppose all development. They oppose date centers because, for example, they don’t understand why there is water for data centers but not farmers. The overall question is whether this is a good use of resources? My view is no and that is based on my research. They suck massive amounts of water and power, and create noise and light pollution for very few jobs. Our elected officials are pushing these for their big donors. Unfortunately, the only way to stop them is to vote people out who approve them.

I’ve had multiple DMs asking if I’ll write something about Stormzy😭 write what? Write about him creating Merky FC in Selhurst to give young people a studio to make music and a football ground to play @ so that they’re off the streets? Or him turning up to funerals of people that have been a victim to knife violence and even performing at Elianne Andam’s funeral to support her family? We went to the Congressional Black Caucus setup for tomorrow and was discriminated against , by the party who claim to fight for Democracy. After that, we pulled into Target. As we were getting out of the car a traffic controller who was standing right by our car. Saw our shirts and hats and loudly said, “we don’t fuck with Trump here.” Mind you, we don’t know him , we didn’t speak to him , we were simply exiting our vehicle. Someone called the police to report him . For people to feel comfortable saying and harassing folks like that because they’re brainwashed is ridiculous. But let it be known: you found the right Republicans. We’re a different breed. God made us exactly how He wanted us. Don’t come for us — we stand our ground. #DCparkingenforcement

Alhamdulillah, our trip today to the Al-Mawasi area was beautiful and successful, but it also brought back so many memories and emotions. ♥️ We visited the home that opened its doors to Rafif’s family and welcomed us three different times during this war, without ever asking for anything in return. They received us with nothing but love, respect, and generosity. The first time was from December 2023 until April 2024. The second time lasted only one week, but it is a week that will remain in our memories forever, because Rafif was born during that week while we were in Al-Mawasi. After that, we returned once again. Our third displacement there lasted from May 2025 until April 2026, before we moved to central Khan Younis. No matter how many days or years pass, this family will always remain in our hearts. We will forever carry love and gratitude for them that words could never fully express. They opened their home to us during some of the hardest days of our lives and shared their space, safety, and whatever they had with us, asking for absolutely nothing in return. ❤️ No matter how much Rafif’s family tries to repay their kindness, what they did for us will always be far greater than anything we could ever give back. And to every person who has stood beside Rafif’s family, supported us, helped us, and kept us in their prayers throughout this war: you will also remain in our hearts, and we will never forget your kindness.
