Q: 'What's the point of you drawing when AI can do it better and faster?' A: It's the act or feeling of doing something creative that IS the real outcome. Not the drawing others see. I think that's what keeps most artists learning - the feeling and mental state the drawing generates while you do it. Equally, if you want to skip that, you go for it.

Don’t forget: every time to draw something, you improve by the tiniest fraction. And the longer you’ve been drawing, the smaller that fraction. But it’s still an improvement. And the longer you’ve been drawing, the faster you are. It compounds. You’ve got to remember that, or it’s too easy to lose motivation.

doyoung talking about how he was used to working even when he didn’t feel well, so he felt that he just had to keep working even when he’s sick... 🐰 even when you’re sick, you should keep doing it unless it’s infectious. we’re used to that and we kept doing that, that not doing it (felt wrong). to us, we are just like, “we have to do it even when we are sick.”

This one’s for anyone out there giving it a go. You might be skint. You might be stressed. You might feel like you’re getting nowhere. But let me tell you something: it don’t matter where you are right now, what matters is that you keep on trying. Life ain’t about being perfect. It’s about turning up, doing your best, and refusing to give up. Every time you get knocked down and stand back up, you’re growing. You’re learning. You’re moving forward…. even if it don’t feel like it. Success ain’t overnight. Confidence takes time. But as long as you’re still going, you’re winning. So keep pushing. Keep showing up. I think drawing vehicles is one of the best ways to develop your drawing. The forms are relatively large and simple, but they're also subtly curved. And the proportions really matter. For example, if the wheels are too small, it immediately looks cartooned.
