🚨DON'T travel with your crypto! Hardware wallets are not always TSA or Customs friendly... Your wallet can be confiscated. You can be forced to open your accounts. The goal is to avoid that entire scenario. Here's what I've learned after traveling with crypto...

No chance of them confiscating a Tangem wallet!

Very unlikely

I can tell without even watching the video for travel or anything @Tangem wallet and ring are the best options

@Tangem Absolutely both great options as well as other card wallets

Tangem card in your wallet with your other cc cards etc seems like a no brainer for every other method though...😬

Nothing like having twelve words memorized. No hardware required. Cross any border completely naked with all your money.

IDK man, seems overblown. I've travelled with various hardware wallets through TSA many times & never once did they even ask about them. Worst case scenario, say they confiscate the wallet. So what? (Sucks to be out $70, but that's about it). Your seed + passphrase is your coin.

Never use the "standard" wallet. Setup your hardware wallet and never use the standard wallet ever. Go straight to setting up a passphrase wallet/s and transacting only in them ever again. Then even if you have to log in to the wallet with the TSA, you can say "I just got it... I haven't actually used it yet". There is no digital trail whatsoever that a passphrase wallet/s ever existed. Ensure your passphrase is a long randomly generated one, such as a 100+ bit 11 word EFF short list etc. Learn to memorise your seeds and your passphrase and recall it quietly in your mind daily. You are welcome.

Or hide your keys in the metadata of a PNG or MP4 file.

Cyber Scrilla's profile picture
Cyber Scrilla1 month ago

This would require you to store your keys on an internet connected device re-introducing the very risk hardware wallets protect you from.

You’ve done the most stupidest thing by posting this. Now, you’re giving them an opportunity to check for it by posting this video. Do you people ever use your brains before speaking? Now it if any agent sees this they can make people wait longer for checking for this.

I put mine in the same plastic bin with my credit card wallet and phone. Never had an issue.

Cyber Scrilla's profile picture
Cyber Scrilla1 month ago

Why do you put those items in the bin? That’s a better question. Keep that ish in your bag

Bitcoin Gucci's profile picture

Wallets are safer on your person than not. When traveling, it’s in my pocket. I’ve put my wallet in the bin 100+ times while traveling and have never been asked about it, not even once. No one knows what it is, or those who do don’t care. I’ve had zero issues.

Or you could bring a disassembled seedsigner, and have really small seedqr stashed, alot easier to hide.

TLDW. Long winded way of saying: Use a trezor with paraphrase. Expose your standard wallet it “forced” to with a few k on that. Done

@7EventHorizon Your crypto is not in hardware or software wallets, it’s onchain. You can travel with your seed (remove and change few words and passphrase and memorize those). Then you can temporarily use any wallet, it’s just a user interface.

Cyber Scrilla's profile picture
Cyber Scrilla1 month ago

@7EventHorizon I understand that I don’t keep keys that control my crypto in software apps on internet connected devices Aka, I don’t keep crypto in hot wallets

Leave the hard wallet and just bring your pass phrase

Cyber Scrilla's profile picture
Cyber Scrilla1 month ago

The seed phrase? That’s an even greater risk

Big if True's profile picture
Big if True1 month ago

Not the full phrase. If can’t remember all 24 words bring 20 words remember 5

Cyber Scrilla's profile picture
Cyber Scrilla1 month ago

If someone sees that and knows it’s part of a seed phrase, they can easily snap a pic and figure out the other 5 words using AI Unless you’re moving, traveling with your seed makes no sense at all

Could you just use a hot wallet?

Cyber Scrilla's profile picture

You definitely can if you keep crypto on hot wallets. I don’t

You can take a newly packaged ledger or trezor with you Even if they’re seizing it (which they won’t) they’ll only be seizing unused hardware When you reach your destination punch your seed in, access your device, do what you have to do, then destroy it before you return home

Cyber Scrilla's profile picture
Cyber Scrilla1 month ago

This would require you to travel with your seed phrase. Which is a greater risk.

Baron Von Beara's profile picture

I memorize my seed phrase, but for the person that can’t there are clever ways to travel with your seed phrase without storing it on a device

Jason's profile picture

Store your seed in your head bro. Just buy a new hw wallet at your destination

Gena's profile picture

You need a wallet with an autodestruction code like the trezor's 7 and fuck the state, tho don't pull that off with the cartel

Going to test this, going to carry a wallet with 10 XRP on it. See what happens

YOUR HARDWARE WALLET SUCKS. PERIOD. ZachXBT just said what we've known for years: hardware wallets are garbage. We won't go as far but we surely feel they are not for everyone. They are for advanced users and by no means for wallets that are meant to be accessed frequently. There is one thing hardware wallets are good at: that is keeping crypto secure if someone physically trying to rip private keys (those that give you access to crypto) out of the chip. The reality is that attack almost never happens!😀 When it comes to the attacks that actually drain wallets, hardware wallets make them worse: >> 1. NOT DISCREETE The moment someone sees that little device, you're a confirmed high-value target. >> 2. LEAKED EMAILS AND ADDRESSES Buying one doxxed thousands of people. Leaked customer databases with the real names and home addresses. You just joined a phishing hit list. Emails targeting hardware wallet owners are now so convincing that even veterans get fooled. Privacy can't fail harder than that. >> 3. PAPER BACKUPS You still write your keys on paper. The seed phrase backup negates the entire point of the device. BTW, mobile wallets already moved on: Unstoppable now has passkey wallets allowing to create and restore with zero seed phrase, secured by your device. That will likely become the golden standard in the future. >> 4. YOUR PHONE ALREADY HAS A VAULT Your phone is designed for security. There's a state of the art secure storage chips in your pocket already. Apple and Google built isolated secure elements to guard the most sensitive data in your life. If integrated right by the devs, it's the most battle-tested security hardware on earth. >> 5. MOBILE APP = DISCREETE Nobody knows you're carrying a vault. A phone is the most discreet way to hold crypto. >> 6. MOBILE APPS CAN BUILT CREATIVE SECURITY FEATURES The mobile OS allows many possibilities for secure use. Hardware wallets are meant to stay primitive by design and therefore can't ship security features that are are needed. - Your wallet can wear a disguise. Some wallet apps look like calculators. - Unstoppable's Duress Mode gives you unlimited unlock PINs - under coercion, you show a decoy and keep the rest invisible. - Unstoppable's phishing protection catches look-alike addresses before you send - blocking the #1 way people actually lose crypto today. Hardware wallets solved 2015's problem. Your phone solves 2026's. MOBILE WALLETS ARE THE FUTURE!
