"I really firmly believe the team that lost to the Lakers in 7 in the second round, without Yao and without Tracy, was a championship team. I really believe that. This is the best defense in the NFL.” Alex Smith: “I kinda disagree with you. They have to make a couple plays on offense & they might win the ball game.” Teddy Bruschi: “Stroud is one that I feel you can take advantage of. My in depth explanation for why I gave Jabari Smith a B- on the season: I want to start by saying Jabari improved tremendously at attacking closeouts and scoring inside the arc. Those improvements just don’t mean as much to me when he is now in year 4 and is still not a top-3 defender on the team, and he is debatably a top-3 shooter on the team, but that doesn’t say much because our roster is notably bad at shooting 3’s. It’s even more problematic for me because Jabari’s shot diet from 3 (per is 85% open or wide open threes, which he takes almost exclusively off the catch. Shooting just league average from 3 on that shot diet for THIS Rockets team does not work for me. If Jabari is going to be a mainstay on a team built around Amen Thompson and Alperen Şengün, I NEED him to increase his volume on threes, his 3P%, and continue to grow as a defender.
