i built my whole star rail acc on dot, quit for months and came back to see that acheron/kafka/blackswan/healer team wasnt viable anymore...

I still play the DoT team till now. They get the job done for me to play the main quest without the need to change the team, so that's enough for me!

technically all damage is done over time it just so happens dot is less damage done over much longer periods of time

I feel like the easiest and simplest way to make DOT viable again isn't a new character, but a complete change to how it functions. Maybe if an enemy has over a certain amount of hp, like MOC 10 levels, it does a base set of damage plus 2-5 % of total hp of the enemy
