Great video, but little point to what you’re asking. People that speak up are, discredited, undermined, lied about and eventually left with no option but to leave.

@ChidgeyClark what will @NatGuardianFTSU office do to ensure regulators step up in their role to support those who speak up but find themselves with a retaliative referral? How can regulators assess quickly contextual issues affecting patient care and act on them??

@MedicineGovSte @WB_UK @NatGuardianFTSU I'd like to think that this Bill would support ALL whistleblowers, and not be confined to medical cases only. I worked in an FE College in NI where fraud was widespread. I told the Director about it - he didn't want to know. The two fraudsters got promoted while I was dismissed!

Healthcare professionals ought to know policies underpinning speaking up, whistleblowing is a complex area of the law that requires knowledge of individual service policy including who, wht is protected, not all disclosures are protected, causation and who to disclose

Speaking up is the most complex thing a healthcare professional do, knowledge of policy is paramount before speaking up because of various co-existence of factors that can be complex
