Very good video but he lost me at the point he said that Perkerra Irrigation Scheme uses water from Lake Baringo. I though the scheme relies on gravity-fed surface water diverted directly from the Perkerra River? The scheme is an upstream consumer rather than a lake-water user.

I’m not sure about that

In totally unrelated news, there is a weather modification radar that Iran blew up recently. It created droughts across the region, allegedly.

Doesn’t that mean “your government waits for a disaster to happen before reacting” I’m Nigerian but I’m sure I’ve seen that phrase used around by Kenyans.

The rift valley is a fault line. The eastern plate is moving away from the African plate. So essential in future the rift valley will be an ocean and it can't happen over night so the basin is slowly filling up na basin huanza kujaa from its lowest points

Was wondering what was happening at Lake Nakuru, whole trees swallowed up by water! Daktari Katwa has really explained this phenomenon very well. Extremely informed.

Profilbild von Fischer

This is all about geological changes in east Africa tectonic plates Nubian and Somali are moving causing this expansion of lakes. What this guy is explaining is a class 6 theory which doesn't affect lakes but more so rivers

So naturally the solution would be to dredge these natural dams/lakes. In the long run, basin management will be needed to reduce the silt getting into these lakes without outlets.

Estuaries are normal. The only area that will be affected are the meeting zone. It would be interesting however if geologists update us on underground volcanic activities that may be a factor

Siltation is also emanating from open cast method of mining especially gold upstream.
