I had a friend tear his ACL playing basketball. He was one of my fellow Strength Coaches with the Diamondbacks (MLB). He decided to postpone his surgery until after the season and he spent the entire season getting as strong as possible. His recovery was remarkable.

I had a friend who had an ACL tear and had surgery. The doctor sent him home without crutches, a wheelchair, or a knee brace. Poor bastard had to walk up and down stairs in his house day 1. Recovered very quickly!

But they sent anyone willing to load two days after surgery just insanely more willing to endure anything for recovery?
