Have the best experience on X.

This is such an odd video, maybe he's speaking to kids?

I think he's referring to the juridical maxim لازم المذهب ليس مذهبا The entailment of the position [in question] is not a position [held]. This is in reference to making takfir or tabdee3 of people on the basis of ascribing to them the entailments of their positions.

No, he’s saying much more than that. He’s saying the claim that Y follows from X is only true from within the critic’s paradigm, and that the person on the receiving end of the criticism simply has a different perspective that is valid and internally coherent from within his paradigm.

I don’t think he’s saying it’s wrong for person P1 to point out the entailments of person P2’s assertion A based on P2’s own presuppositions Y. Rather what he’s arguing is that it’s wrong for P1 to point out entailments of P2’s assertion A based on P1’s presuppositions Z.

This doesn’t make much of a difference. The implication is the same: that such critique is only valid from within the other person’s paradigm, so unless you already agree on all presuppositions, you can’t legitimately challenge their conclusions.

He’s literally just trying to say don’t takfir people for extrapolations of their beliefs which they don’t hold.

His point isn't that the syllogism isn't true, it may or may not be, his point is don't takfir others for what you think, or know, the necessary implication of their belief is, if they do not accept that implication. An ashari will say salafi aqidah implies a limitation to Allah-
