#OTD 2011 - Before a frenzied standing-room only crowd at Busch Stadium, the Cardinals win their 11th World Series Championship. The Rangers scored twice in the first inning and fans were worried that the game 6 heroics didn't carry over. But "that man" was still lurking - David Freese tied the game at 2 with a two-run double in the bottom of the first and Allen Craig's third inning one-run homer put the Cardinals ahead for good. Chris Carpenter settled down to pitch 6 strong innings. Arthur Rhodes, Octavio Dotel and Lance Lynn followed Carp on the mound to keep the Rangers off the scoreboard. Jason Motte then gets the Rangers 1-2-3 in the ninth inning to close it out. ⚾️ Final score, 6-2 🏆 David Freese was named the MVP 🎙️ "What a team! What a ride! A Smile Worth More Than Any Title: Katie Taylor Hands a Young Fan Her Gloves Before Croke Park Farewell Ten-year-old Clodagh Keating from Coolock was fighting back tears of joy after being lifted into the ring to meet Katie Taylor during an open workout at The Helix in Dublin. The youngster, a devoted fan of the boxing great, was shown some techniques and even given Taylor’s gloves, a moment she said she had dreamed of for years. “It felt so amazing,” Clodagh told reporters afterwards. “I couldn’t believe when someone just lifted me over and said you’re going to go and meet Katie. I’ve always wanted to meet her for so long and it just made me so upset that I went into the ring and she gave me her gloves as well… it’s just so sweet that I got picked out.” Taylor said the look on Clodagh’s face, and the sight of so many other young girls in the crowd, meant more than any world championship. “That’s the greatest part, to see so many little girls here and imagining all the thousands of stories of those little girls in the stadium on Saturday night who might be at a boxing event for the very first time,” she said. “I’m hoping that these little girls actually fall in love with this beautiful sport and surpass anything that I’ve ever achieved. "Just looking at Clodagh’s little face, the smile on her face, that’s worth more than any of these titles." On Saturday night, that same champion walks out one last time at Croke Park. Taylor faces unbeaten French challenger Flora Pili in a sold-out farewell billed as the first professional boxing event at the stadium since Muhammad Ali fought there in 1972. Around 80,000 fans are expected as she defends her WBA, IBF, WBO and Ring Magazine super-lightweight titles and fights for the vacant WBC belt, with a chance to retire as a three-time undisputed world champion. For a fighter who helped put women’s boxing on the Olympic programme, won gold in London in 2012, and then ruled two professional divisions, it is the homecoming she always called the perfect ending, a national occasion meant to leave the next generation, girls like Clodagh, believing they belong in the ring too.

Physics AI 🌊 Jensen just unveiled the NVIDIA Isaac GR00T Reference Humanoid Robot at GTC Taipei--the world’s first open-source humanoid robot reference design Built on Jetson Thor edge computing and the Isaac GR00T open platform, it features a Unitree H2 Plus body with Sharpa five-finger dexterous hands and 75 degrees of freedom. Even before Physical AI truly explodes, NVIDIA has built a complete end-to-end full-stack infrastructure: >chips (Jetson Thor + Blackwell), >synthetic data (GR00T-Dreams), >world models (Cosmos), >foundation models (GR00T N-series VLA), >high-fidelity simulation platforms (Isaac Sim + Isaac Lab + Omniverse). Dozens of humanoid robot companies ,including Agility Robotics, Aglie robotics,Boston Dynamics, Figure, 1X, NEURA Robotics, XPENG Robotics, and more are already running large-scale daily simulation training on this platform, rapidly iterating perception, reasoning, and actions in virtual environments, speeding up the jump from lab prototypes to real factory deployment. By providing an open reference design and full-stack tools, NVIDIA has dramatically lowered the barrier, letting every robotics team join the Physical AI wave with low cost and high efficiency.

#OTD 2011 - In Game 6 of the World Series played at Busch Stadium, a Cardinals baseball legend was born - twice! David Freese has one of the greatest clutch performances, in one of the craziest games in the history of the World Series. The back-and-forth game saw the Cardinals come back from a two-run deficit in the bottom of the 9th inning and again in the 10th inning! David Freese (with the Cardinals down to their final strike) smacks an opposite-field two run triple in the bottom of the 9th inning to tie the game to send it into extra innings. In the top of the 10th inning, Josh Hamilton hits a two-run home runs, seemingly giving the Rangers their first World Series Championship... Now trailing 9-7 as they head into the bottom of the 10th inning, the Cardinals still had plenty of fight in them. Ryan Theriot's single scores Daniel Descalso to bring the Cardinals within one. Lance Berkman (with the Cardinals down to their final strike once again) slashes a single to right-center field to tie the game at 9 and send the game into the 11th inning. 🎙️"They just, won't, go, away." - Joe Buck Starting pitcher Jake Westbrook comes in to pitch the 11th inning, and holds the Rangers to just a single, to set the stage for Cardinals magic. The first batter of the inning is ... David Freese Freese wins the game in dramatic fashion, with a walk-off home run to the grass in center field to send Busch Stadium into a frenzy, and the Cardinals into game 7. 🎙️“Freese hits it in the air to center. We will see you, tomorrow night” - Joe Buck #STLCards

Kipp Popert will become the first ever golfer with cerebral palsy to compete in a full International Series event on the Asian Tour as he tees it up in the LINK Hong Kong Open tomorrow. “It means a lot. I am grateful to Hong Kong Golf Club for the invite. I want to achieve a lot in this game. I want to encourage the next generation of disabled golfers to dream big and provide them with opportunities that were not available to myself. The best way I can do that is by playing good golf - I’m excited to get to work.” Kipp won the DP World Tour’s G4D Tour Championship last week making history by winning 4 G4D events for the season. He also did a remarkable double to win the US Adaptive Open and The G4D Open which took his G4D major tally to 3, with 15 total wins in his short career. Having the opportunity to compete in this event alongside top stars like Justin Rose, Tom Kim, Patrick Reed and Martin Kaymer will be awesome for him. Kipp is taking G4D golf to new levels of performance and I’m looking forward to seeing how he gets on at Hong Kong Golf Club. Asian Tour International Series

OpenAI chairman Bret Taylor talks to about 100 CEOs every month. His answer to the cheap open-weight model panic: cheaper to train does not mean cheaper to use, and the number that decides it is token efficiency. "One thing that I think is a little bit overblown about these open weight models is they're not necessarily cheaper to run. Whether or not they're cheaper to train, you don't care. Because you're using just as many tokens. In fact, they may be less efficient." "There's this thing called token efficiency. And it turns out the frontier models are much, much more token efficient." "A token is to intelligence like a watt is to electricity... how many tokens does it take to complete a task? Not every token is actually equal." "For a lot of tasks, it turns out these frontier models from OpenAI and Anthropic are actually just better than these open weight models... just having open weights isn't actually the main thing driving any of those costs." Later in the same interview he goes after the billing unit itself: "It would be like if you signed up for Gmail and you paid for CPU cycle or something... where the world is going is paying for outcomes." The unresolved column: the chart CNBC airs mid-answer, from Artificial Analysis, prices a completed task at $0.94 on Kimi K3 against $2.75 on Claude Fable 5, efficiency folded in. If that gap holds, the premium he is defending gets earned on quality, not price. - Bret Taylor (Bret Taylor), OpenAI chairman and Sierra co-founder, on CNBC's Squawk Box.

The story behind OUTRO: TEAR Yoongi "The lyrics for 'TEAR' were written for the members. When I was writing the melody, at the time we were deeply contemplating whether we should quit or not. When I played the song for the members, we all cried together." Context: The interviews were conducted in 2019, during their Speak Yourself extension world tour. The documentary series BREAK THE SILENCE was released in May of 2020, only a few months after the cancelled Map Of The Soul Tour was set to begin. After all the interviews, between the members in SUCHWITA and during so many of their group and individual activities over the last 2 years, it is safe to assume that the members are now well and truly over the slump that pressured them during the years of 2017 - 2018. In my opinion, if anything positive came out of the pandemic, just like many of us around the world, Bangtan was able to step back, recalibrate, reprioritise and draft a new map of what Bangtan is to look like for the next 7 years, at least, especially after the announcement of the contract renewal on September 2023. As to what post-MS Bangtan looks like, only time will tell, but I'm not going anywhere ☺💜 #BTSHistory Related content: [EPISODE] BTS (방탄소년단) @ 2018 MAMA in HONG KONG BANGTANTV OP (no subs): BANGTAN SUBS (eng subs): SOURCE:2020 BREAK THE SILENCE - EP6.
