Dramatic Irishman Liam Neeson implores you not to fall prey to lazy stereotypes when pronouncing famous Irish names like Saoirse Ronan and Domnhall Gleason. #Colbert

You managed to misspell both Domhnall AND Gleeson.

#CaitríonaBalfe YES 💯 And don’t forget the fada! You tell ‘em Liam 👏😂

"If you mis-pronounce an Irish name, I will find you and I will kill you."

Love this!!! Thank you Mr. Neeson and Mr. Colbert 👏🏻🙌🏻💚☘️ and don’t forget it’s St. Paddy’s day not St. Patty’s day 😉💚

Maybe just maybe more will pronounce @caitrionambalfe correctly! 😉💚

used to work with someone named Caoimhe. she had it spelled Keeva on her name tag so people would pronounce it right. also, my mom named her dog Dearbhail.

Now THIS is how to joke about the Irish people! 🤣☘️🇮🇪

Please don't hurt me, but since linguists were using English, anyway (as opposed to Irish Gaelic), why didn't they use spellings that made sense in English? Why isn't Siobhan "Shivahn?"

@philnurenberg OH the concept could've been gold. Swing and a miss.

Liam has a good sense of humor to do this skit..but then gets all discombobulated being on “The View” bc the gals had some fun by flirting with him and he felt “embarrassed” and had to complain. Gees, you’re a good actor Sir, but distressed when surrounded by intelligent women.
