Firefighters from the Misquamicut and Watch Hill departments quickly responded, donned ice rescue suits, and carefully made their way out—crawling across the fragile ice in parts—to reach him. They successfully pulled Phoenix to safety and brought him back to shore, where he was reunited with his owner.
