Draymond Green says he knowingly played through a concussion because he refused to let the Warriors lose their shot at 73 wins. Paul George : “Talk to me about that 73-9 season. Y’all only lost nine games.” Draymond Green : “It’s crazy to even think about now.” “This past... season, Steph and I looked at each other after losing nine games and said, ‘Can you believe we already lost nine games?’” “I was the one pushing us to go get the record.” “With about five games left, Joe Ingles hit me in the head going for a loose ball.” “I was concussed. I just didn’t tell anybody.” “I knew if I sat out, we might not get the record.” “So I played through it.” “I was dizzy, lightheaded, driving to the facility wondering what was going on.” “I know for sure I had a concussion.” “We all played through so much that season just to get to 73 wins.”show more

Nick Saban says he thinks more about the 3 national championships he lost than the 7 he won “I think we were in the playoffs 12 times, and we played in 10 national championship games, won seven and lost three. I think more about the three that we lost than I do about the seven that we won.” “So for me to say what is my favorite game, I can’t pinpoint one thing. I can’t pinpoint one team. If you ever played on a championship team, and I think anybody out there that has played on one, you know how special it is to be a part of that, to have everybody buy into the principles and values and the things they need to do to be successful and the team needs to do to be successful.” “All those teams were something that I hold in high regard as having the opportunity to be a part of. But I think a lot more about the games we lost and what I could have done to change it. That haunts me more than thinking about the games that we won.”

Trae Young says he'll never forgive playing it safe on a sprained ankle two games from the finals "If what I know now, I would have played through my sprained ankle. My agents were telling me not to play" "We were two games away to go to the finals, we had beat the Suns twice that year. You never know when that opportunity is going to come again" "That's one thing that breaks me. I wish I would have just triple taped it, put the ankle brace on top, and played through that pain"

Steph Curry says he wouldn’t trade his two titles for the 73-9 season Draymond: “If you could trade the 2017 and ’18 championship to complete the 73-win championship, would you trade those two championships to complete the 73?” Steph: “So let me get the resume right, we’d have two chips and a damn-near-perfect season… I don’t even know how to answer that question. I would say no.” “But I think for the rest of our life I’ll still be able to just laugh at “16” it’s fine, it’s always gonna be that awkward acknowledgement of an amazing regular season and then the finals run. But yeah, I’d say no.” Draymond: “You don’t have your Steph Curry in your life, get your Steph Curry, because if you say yes, this interview was over, my heart was broken.” “To be quite frank with you, I still think we had the best team ever, although we didn’t finish it and win the championship. I still think that was the best team ever, until 2017… I can’t see anyone beating that 2017 team. Not even our first 15-16.” “Hands down, that’s it, best team ever.”

Tyrese Maxey says Joel Embiid believed in him even before he played his first NBA game: “He was the first person NBA like player-wise to believe in me. Like, because I played against them in like practice a couple times, I was on like the penny group like the third group and I was like, we won a couple games like a little pick and roll games and he was like okay he is kind of good. Then I got to the second unit we won a couple games he was like, okay put him on the first unit let’s see what he does. I was so nervous playing with him the first time. Like I don’t know what to do. But first time I got on a plane he is like sit right here. Sit by me. And I’m like, Okay, all right. I guess I knew I didn’t have a choice. I was a rookie. But he told me like, you’re going to be a star in this league, bro. You’re going to be really good. You’re going to be this. You’re going to be that, I’m like, bro, I haven’t even played a game. I played zero basketball games.” (Via NBA on NBC and Peacock)

Bennett Stirtz reflecting on last season at Iowa: "When we were at rock bottom, when we were losing three straight games, we stuck together as a team. Everything’s not going to be sunshine and rainbows. You’ve got to go through the struggle. I think the struggle and suffering changes you. So just seeing what we’ve been through and what we made it to — close to our goal — I think that was super special. And then, the relationships that I had was something that I’ll never let go.”

Shaquille O'Neal says he was so mad after the 1996 Olympics that he threw away his gold medal “Lenny Wilkins only played me 10 minutes. I was still Shaq. Bro, this is a true story. The Olympic Games in '96, I played throughout, helped them come back, win games. In the gold medal game, Lenny Wilkins says, ‘Hey, this probably deserves the last game, so he's going to get more minutes’” “I said, ‘Cool. I want you to play him.’ But he didn't play me at all until the last two minutes. I was so pissed off after the ceremony, I drove home in my uniform and threw the goddamn medal out the window. I threw it away on the highway. I was so mad” “I should have made Dream Team I. I was pissed about that. I made Dream Team II, but that was the World Games. Didn't make the '92 team. They wanted to appease me and put me on the '94 team, the World Games. We won that. Then they put me on Dream Team III. But I was so pissed that Lenny Wilkins did that to me”

Al Pacino says Francis Ford Coppola sat him down a few weeks into filming The Godfather and showed him footages of his performance saying he wasn’t impressed and he was sure he was about to be fired Al Pacino: “Because when I walked in there, again, that was a big thing for me to walk into Gingerman. Because I didn’t go there because I didn’t have money to buy the drinks.” “So I went in there, and Francis was eating with his family, and I was standing there, and he says, ‘We had a talk.’” “So I thought, well, here we go, you know? We’re not going to go anywhere.” “He tells me, ‘You know, I had faith in you. I believed in you.’” “I said, ‘Yeah, I know,’ but it’s—well, you’re not— I don’t know what to do now. What do I say now?” “He says, ‘Well, I only show you the rushes, the footage that we had shot already, and that was going to see something.’” “So I went and saw the rushes, and I’m looking at the screen, and I’m seeing mistakes.” “I was hoping that I could blend in with the scenery and not be seen specifically, or, you know, spotted.” “I just wanted to just blend and just be natural.” “And I thought, well, I know this, the way it looks now, but that’s part of what is going to turn into Michael Corleone.” “So, of course, like I said, two friends, naturally, the actor’s instinct, I just said, ‘Yeah, I see what you mean. That always quiets everybody down. I see, I see what you’re saying.’” “Yes. Sure, yeah, yeah, I’ll work on that.” “I thought, well. Then I thought I was out. And I sort of wanted to be out.”

Draymond Green on resigning with the Warriors: “I pretty much resigned, not pretty much I did resign for the same amount that I opted out of. Obviously there was hope that we would land a guy with the mid-level slot that didn’t happen so I opted back in a sense to my deal. You know, it was kind of no other reason to not do that. So, shout out to the Dubs. It was reported that I did not receive the no trade clause, no I didn’t. I think it was something that we could have fought over but it wasn’t worth fighting over. You know, I think if the Warriors want to trade me at some point of the season, the want to trade me I’ve never been a guy who wants to stay somewhere where I’m not wanted.” (Via The Draymond Green Show)

Joe Girardi explains why he knowingly allowed his pitcher Mike Mussina to make a mistake that cost his team the game because sometimes you have to lose the battle to win the war: “He had an up-and-down year. He was in and out of the rotation. I knew that he would be really important to us in the playoffs…” “So I had to show Mike Mussina that I believed in him. I know the numbers. Manny’s a better hitter… I know that I want to walk Manny.” “I went to the mound and I asked, What do you want to do here? I know what I want to do… But I want to hear what you want to do.” “He said, I want to go after Manny.” “I said, Okay. I get back to the dugout… Put my foot back up on the step… And bam, he hits a double in the gap.” “The first thing I thought was, why didn’t I go with my gut? Why didn’t I go with what I thought was right?” “This is the thing about managing people. Sometimes you have to lose the battle to win the war.” “I’ve got to get Mike Mussina… To know that I believe in him… And trust in him.” “As a manager and a coach… You always have to take all the blame… And give all the credit to the other people. I put none of it on Mike’s shoulders. Mike ended up winning 20 games that year. It was the only year he won 20 games in his career.” “Even though that situation didn’t work out… We lost that game… I learned a lot about managing people… And the importance of showing belief in them.”

#MilkPansa #mimiv About the “couple necklaces” 💚: I need to clarify first that it’s actually not my necklace. I didn’t buy it after Nong did. At that time, i went to SK with my older sister. She was going to get a facial treatment, and she was worried the necklace might get dirty. Also, she didn’t want to put it in her bag cuz she was afraid it might get lost, so she put it on me instead. 💚: I didn’t really think much about it. I just went to wait for her at the mart and was eating boiled eggs, like you guys saw. And honestly, i didn’t even know if the necklace was expensive or not. So i just turned the pendant to the back cuz i was worried it might get dirty. Also, since it’s not mine, i didn’t dare take it off myself, i was afraid i might break it. So i just want to say that it’s not my necklace; it actually belongs to my older sister.

Chris Bosh says it took him months to forgive LeBron James for leaving Miami “Through a text. I thought he was bullshitting, and then about 10 minutes later it’s everywhere. At the time, I didn’t understand it. In my mind I was ready to put the team back together because we had just lost” “I took offense to it, to be honest with you, at first. I was only thinking of how I felt about it. Me and Bron talked about it, but I’m a competitor. When you go back to the locker room and Bron ain’t in that chair, and then everybody’s kind of looking at you for that 25 points and looking at D for that 25 points” “It still worked out for everybody, but I was upset. It took some time to get over it. I want to say it took months to get over it. We had to be in the same place and talk about it. Nothing deep, but just talk and get back on good terms and get back to where we were”

Selena Gomez reveals how Benny Blanco proposed to her. “I thought we had a shoot that day, so I had hair and makeup done, and I was just going about my regular day. I got into the car, and I was thinking to myself, ‘Where are we going?’ Because at that point, I felt like I knew all the studios I usually go to” “It was just me and my security guard, and he was laughing because he was just like, ‘I don’t know. It’s a new space’” “We got out. I walked in, and all of a sudden, I saw no one in the room. I looked at my assistant, and she just shut the door. And I was like, ‘Uhhh…’” “I think you envision all the things you would do and say when someone proposes to you. But it is actually the craziest feeling. It was really special” “He said the sweetest things, but I was so shocked that it just felt unreal for a long time. I’ve always dreamed of that moment, and he couldn’t have made it more perfect. It was one of the best days of my life, for sure”

Bam Adebayo GOES IN on the critics that says his 83 point game performance is unethical: "For the couch coaches, I mean, if you're in my shoes and you have, first of all, y'all are blaming me. You should be blaming the head coach. Get that first. I was not the one letting me go one-on-one the whole game until I had 70, and then you started to send a double. At that point, I got 70 with, like, what? nine minutes left to go in the game you think i'm not going for it like like and that's the thing that's crazy when they talk about the unethical part of the basketball i'm like if i have 70 points with 9 minutes to go Who would just be like, you know, coach, just take me out. Yeah, right. Anybody in my shoes with nine minutes left? Okay. A minute? All right. Nine? Yeah, I'm going for it. You can't be mad at that. If you are mad, I don't care because a lot of people, they're upset because if they did play, they never had a chance to get that close to chasing greatness. And then if you get that close to chasing greatness, that's the point of chasing it so you can surpass it. And some of the people have never played basketball. So like if you've been in the backyard and you and a couple of your homies have been playing 21 and you got 19. You're not going to get an easy look off. And four, they're going to talk about the free throws. It's not like I shoot 15 free throws a game. It's not like I average 10 free throws a game. You can watch the film. I was legitimately getting fouled every time. So I went to the free throw line."

I'd buy a bunch of cars and then invite a bunch of girls over and just say, ‘Pick one’”

Draymond Green reflects on punching Jordan Poole: "For five seconds, I forgot where I was" “I've had a bunch of situations like that growing up. Sometimes I was the guy who get hit, sometimes I wasn't. Regardless, we move on. That's how I've always approached it” “So when that situation happened, I'm like, all right, cool. We move on. And then when we couldn't, I was like, huh?” “For a while, it made me think, man, this dude nothing like me. Because when those things happen, you just move on” “But it taught me so much. It taught me, you're right, he may not be like you. He ain't from where you from. The things you went through, the way you had to come up, he may not have came up like that” “For that five seconds, I forgot where I was at because I immediately went to what I know. But what you know don't really work here” “Everybody says, ‘Oh man, but you was 10 years in. You should know better.’ Still learning nine years in” “It's lessons like that that ultimately make me who I am to this day because, man, I fucked that up”

Kevin Costner said he didn’t want to speak publicly after Whitney Houston died because he felt their relationship was “just a movie.” Kevin Costner: What happened was, it was a thing I didn't want to do. When Whitney passed, the microphone was going around for a, for a week, that everybody getting on TV talking about her. And I'm thinking, "Jesus, the last thing I want to do is get on a radio and talk about her." Uh, after all, it was just a movie really. And, but there was this weird thing that I didn't take into consideration. I think sometimes, maybe you and I can miss what the real momentum is, that we don't really gauge it because we either intellectually dismiss it or we just don't care, but people wanted to hear what I had to say about her, which baffled me. It was a, it was a make-believe relationship we had. And so I avoided it.

Carlos Alcaraz says he initially wasn’t sure if he was cramping or if it was an issue with his adductor during his match against Zverev, ‘I just told what happened to the physio & he decided to take a medical’ “I didn’t think it was cramps at all at the beginning. I didn’t know exactly what it was. I ran to a forehand and started to feel it in the right adductor. That’s why I called the physio. Because it was just that moment, the rest of the legs.. the left leg was good. Not good but decent. After that with all the stress I didn’t know what was going on. I didn’t know if it was going to be worse or not. In that moment I just talked to the physio and said ‘Ok I just went to run to the forehand side and I started to feel the right adductor.’ He decided to take the medical time out and he did it. I just told what happened to the physio and he decided to take a medical.” (via Australian Open Press)
