DRDO has successfully conducted a test of a high-calibre bomb at its Terminal Ballistics Research Laboratory (TBRL) facility in Ramgarh, Haryana. According to reports, the test was monitored by senior Indian Air Force officials and was completed successfully. What made this trial unusual was the safety planning. Authorities warned that metal fragments from the blast could potentially travel up to 1.5 kilometres from the test site. As a result, nearby villages received special advisories and surveillance measures were increased throughout the area. The Government of Telangana has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with JSW UAV Limited, a subsidiary of JSW Defence, to establish a state-of-the-art Unmanned Aerial Systems manufacturing facility in the State. As part of this strategic initiative, #JSW UAV, in collaboration with a leading US-based defence technology company, is set to invest approximately Rs 800 crore in the project. This landmark initiative is expected to generate over 200 high-value jobs, reinforcing Telangana's position as a hub for cutting-edge technology and defence innovation. This MoU marks a significant milestone in Telangana's journey to becoming a preferred destination for advanced technology investments and reflects the State's dedication to driving innovation and creating employment opportunities. This task is not easy because in most of the countries where drones are manufactured, many critical components are imported from China. For India's defence preparedness and strategic autonomy, India must become completely self-reliant in drone manufacturing... The country needs all of you in this work.
