DRDO has formalised its partnership with Adani Defence Systems and Technologies to indigenise airborne surveillance and battle management suites for the IAF 🇮🇳 For decades, India's defence sector lagged because private manufacturing was kept out of core aerospace programs. Adani entering this high-tech arena completely transforms that equation. Private...

Karnataka has a significant and strategic contribution to India’s defence production, making it a strong contender for the establishment of two dedicated Defence Industrial Corridors—one each in North and South Karnataka. The state is responsible for 67% of the country’s defence aircraft and helicopter manufacturing and holds a 25% share in the national aircraft and spacecraft industry. South Karnataka has emerged as India’s aerospace innovation hub, while North Karnataka is rapidly developing into a prominent defence manufacturing zone. These regional strengths offer a balanced and scalable platform for the growth of India’s defence ecosystem. Karnataka has already laid a strong foundation to support large-scale defence and aerospace industries. The Belagavi Aerospace Special Economic Zone, India’s first precision manufacturing SEZ, and the Hi-Tech Aerospace & Defence Park in Devanahalli stand as critical infrastructure assets that reflect the state’s future-readiness. These facilities, combined with a skilled talent pool, robust policy framework, and world-class R&D capabilities, make Karnataka uniquely positioned to expand its role in national defence production. The state’s industrial growth story is further validated by the success of Invest Karnataka 2025, which secured investment commitments worth ₹10.27 lakh crore, with over 60% of manufacturing-related investments already realised. Karnataka is not just prepared—it is leading. With a proven track record and comprehensive ecosystem in place, Karnataka now seeks the Government of India’s support to scale these efforts into a national-level defence corridor, reinforcing India’s pursuit of self-reliance and global leadership in defence manufacturing. #Aerospaceanddefence #Karnataka #Belagavi #Bengaluru

#AdaniEmbraer Adani-Embraer Landmark Aviation Partnership Adani Defence & Aerospace and Brazilian aerospace giant Embraer signed a historic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the Ministry of Civil Aviation. This partnership aims to establish India's first private-sector Final Assembly Line (FAL) for regional transport aircraft, specifically targeting the 70–146 seat segment. The collaboration is designed to build a "world-class aviation ecosystem" rather than just a standalone manufacturing plant. The focus areas include: •Final Assembly Line (FAL): Setting up a facility to assemble Embraer’s regional jets (E-Jets family) on Indian soil. •Indigenization: A phased increase in local manufacturing of parts and components. •Value-Chain Integration: Leveraging Adani’s existing footprint in airport infrastructure, MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) services, and pilot training. •Supply Chain Development: Establishing a robust domestic network of suppliers to support global aerospace programs. Jeet Adani, Director (Adani Defence & Aerospace / Adani Airport Holdings) Jeet Adani characterized the agreement as a "vision taking flight," emphasizing its alignment with the national mission of Atmanirbhar Bharat. "It represents India's determination to build world-class aviation capabilities on our own soil. This project will redefine the future of aviation in our country." Arjan Meijer, President & CEO (Embraer Commercial Aviation) Meijer highlighted India as a "pivotal market," projecting a demand for at least 500 aircraft in the regional jet category over the next 20 years. He noted that the partnership combines Embraer's engineering excellence with Adani’s industrial scale. •Regional Connectivity (UDAN): The partnership directly supports the government's UDAN scheme by providing cost-effective aircraft suited for Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities. •Bilateral Ties: The deal strengthens strategic relations between India and Brazil, fostering technological and industrial cooperation. •Employment: The project is expected to generate high-skilled employment and move India up the global aerospace value chain. •Market Positioning: Currently, approximately 50 Embraer aircraft (commercial, defense, and business) operate in India. This move positions Embraer to compete more effectively with the duopoly of Airbus and Boeing by offering locally assembled alternatives. •Location: While not yet finalized, Jeet Adani confirmed that a couple of sites are under evaluation, with a final decision expected within the next two months. •First Rollout: Government officials suggested that the first aircraft could potentially roll out of the Indian facility within the next five years. •Investment: Specific financial figures remain confidential, but the scale is described as a multi-billion dollar commitment to India's aerospace infrastructure. Source Highlights: •MoU signed in the presence of Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu and Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh. •Aligns with the 'Make in India' initiative to reduce import dependence.

#WATCH | Johor Bahru, Malaysia | Former DRDO Scientist Dr Ravi Gupta says, "The Pinaka multi-barrel rocket launcher system is significant in many ways. It was the first defence system to be manufactured by private industries in the country. In 2008, under the leadership of Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, for the first time in the history of independent India, the participation of private industries in the defence sector was approved. This proved to be a game-changer, and leveraging this, DRDO collaborated with the private sector to have it produced by private industries... Even during the Kargil War, when the Pinaka was not yet fully developed, it demonstrated its capabilities. Since then, it has made a very significant contribution to the army. Moreover, the advantage of a multi-barrel rocket launcher is that it is less expensive. Compared to our guided missiles, their cost is significantly lower, although their accuracy is not as high as that of guided missiles. Now, the recently developed 120-kilometre range multi-barrelled long-range rocket system has an accuracy comparable to a guided missile, but at a much lower cost. A large area of enemy territory can be destroyed in just a few minutes. A 120-kilometre range can prove very decisive for a tactical weapon on the battlefield, and this will give our armed forces great strength and power. Even though it is a tactical weapon, when it is used in large quantities by our armed forces in battle, it can prove very decisive in the war. Another important aspect is that since it was developed in collaboration with the private sector, it will give a significant boost to our industries. It will help in expanding our defence industries..."

In a recent TV interview, Vallabh Bhanshali — one of India’s most respected voices in finance and investment — offered an extraordinary assessment of Gautam Adani and the Adani Group. Bhanshali said Adani has “mastered the art of building great infrastructure at record speed and record scale.” But what stood out even more was his reflection on how Adani handled one of the toughest corporate crises in recent history — the Hindenburg episode. “When the Hindenburg attack came, it wasn’t just a blow to the Adani Group — it was a blow to the country,” Bhanshali said. “Every Adani asset was up for grabs. But Adani faced that turbulence with composure and focus. He could refinance himself because he had done the hard work — he finished projects on time, generated cash flows, and built real assets.” There’s a deeper lesson here. Adani didn’t survive the crisis because of luck or influence. He survived because of execution — because real infrastructure, finished on time, produces real cash flows. And when capital markets froze, those cash flows became his lifeline. In an era when headlines move faster than facts, Bhanshali’s words remind us that substance still triumphs over speculation. Resilience isn’t built in a moment — it’s built over decades of delivery, discipline, and daring. When a market sage like Vallabh Bhanshali praises someone, it isn’t flattery. It’s recognition. Recognition that India now has industrial leaders who can face global headwinds and still build world-class infrastructure that strengthens the nation. Speed. Scale. Steadiness. That’s the Adani formula Bhanshali wants India — and the world — to take note of.
