Cows aren’t machines, they’re mothers. 🥺🐮 In the dairy industry, cows are subjected to relentless milking schedules to meet human demand. 😰 They are repeatedly impregnated to keep producing milk, and each time they give birth, their calves are taken away so their milk can be taken for people. 😠 This cycle causes immense physical and emotional strain, leaving them exhausted. Once they’re no longer productive, they’re deemed ‘spent’ and have their lives taken. 💔 But we don’t have to support this suffering. At Polshea Farm in Cornwall - a supplier to Cathedral City Cheese - we filmed calves being taken from their mothers shortly after birth. Calf separation is standard practice in the dairy industry worldwide. Farmers do this so that the calves do not drink the milk meant for sale, and therefore eat into their profits. This woman just got back from vacation and noticed her milk is set to expire June 1st. She said she will be darned if she is going to throw that milk away and is going to be eating cereal until it is gone. (Fruit Loops- nice)😂 I’m like her, I don’t like throwing food away. I will deviate from the food plan if I see leftovers not being eaten or milk going bad too. 💯 Many were giving suggestions on what she could make with the milk, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, milk n’ cookies, and protein shakes. What else could she make? Do you do the same thing, refuse to see food or milk thrown away? Make sure it is used up before the expiration date?
