Dricus du Plessis on Sean Strickland beating Khamzat Chimaev: “The fight went exactly how I thought it would. Great performance from Sean. I said it before, he’s incredibly hard to hold down and he turned it into a real fight. And in the striking, Khamzat just can’t compete with him. Congrats… I guess that makes me world champion again.” 👀 #UFC328

"In the rematch, I will make him fight my fight" - Dricus Du Plessis aims to drag Khamzat into deep waters and take over the fight. “Fighting Khamzat is what I’m after. Am I expecting any surprises? No. That’s the way he’s going to fight, and if he tries anything different, it will be a terrible night. But he did what he had to do to win that belt, and we can’t hate him for that. It’s my responsibility to go out there, fix that, stop him from doing it again, and make him fight my fight.” (Via Fight Forecast)

Islam Makhachev thinks Sean Strickland can give Khamzat Chimaev a tough fight 👀 "Unlike it was with Dricus du Plessis who was lying on his back and couldn't get up, I think Strickland will be working his way up, getting up and fighting back. Strickland is bit of an unhinged guy. He took a bit too many hits throughout his career. I met him in person and we talked... they all act normal when you talk in person, yet when the camera starts rolling they can't hold themselves back." (via Red Corner MMA)

🤔🤼‍♂️ Henry Cejudo believes Sean Strickland ended up on top of Khamzat Chimaev in Round 2 because he hurt him on the feet before the takedown: “Sean Strickland caught him in the second round. He hurt him, Khamzat Chimaev was on stanky leg. He did a good job by being composed and not showing it. Where he made a mistake it’s when he went for a takedown. When you get hurt you almost always go for a takedown but it’s just not good. You must keep that poker face.” (via Pound 4 Pound)
