Drill SGTs repeat dumb questions Trainees ask in basic training.

Anyone who insists upon the patently false doctrine that "there is no such thing as a stupid question" has CLEARLY never spent any meaningful time interacting with the general public.

In boot camp, the dumbest question I heard was: Drill Instructor, when will we learn how to use the Marine Corps (NCO) swords in combat?

The deployment patch shade LMAO

"how come you got no patches" 🤣

BRO...lost my shit "Drill Sgt why you don't got no Patches like the Other Drill Sgts" LMFAO

The slick sleave of shame. We all start that way, but I'm sure that's becoming normal again for drill sergeants. Most of my drills had just come back from invading Iraq and most were on the trail for the first time.

I could sit back with a glass of whiskey and listen to this for hours 😂😂😂🇺🇸🥃

Meanwhile me:

We had a guy wear his boots on the wrong feet for an entire 12-mile road march. There is no limit to the stupidity you'll find in basic.

OMFG this.... Another NCO & I were discussing radio encryptions in the smoke pit. Private Snuffy wanders over. "I played a video game once, Sergeant..." We were hard-pressed not to smoke the dogshit out of the poor kid. We couldn't stop laughing. This was back around 1997.

It's funny, but I actually knew an 88M Airborne Ranger. Ellsworth J. Lew was his name. A fine man and a good friend.

Holy fuck, you’re in Leonard Wood.

I didn’t pay attention to what my fellow trainees were asking in 2002. Fast forward to 2010, when I was reclassing to 11B when I went active duty… holy shit. I think my drill sergeants were happy to have a prior service guy with a combat patch to catch some of the dumb questions.

“Hey Master Sergeant, my promotion to E-2 hits while I’m at Basic, will they pin me there?” Me - Tell ya what write all these questions down and make sure to ask your Drill Sergeants as soon as you get there! I’m so, so sorry guys 😂😂😂

When do I go to sniper school? 🤣🤣🤣

You can tell they're drill sergeants because no drill instructors have double chins.

This would be funnier if the blob on the right wasn’t a fat fuck

"Dwill Sahgent, I think my wifle's jammed, look-" -flags the ENTIRE range-

@gunnerklein The funniest part is their own drill Sergeants probably made fun of them.

I just happened to come across this and it's so tacky it followed me here like a stray puppy.

I got in trouble for laughing more than once because my DIs were fucking hilarious

Yes Dwill Swargent. Pwease shark attack me Dwill, make it hert.

Drill Sergeant? When do I get to be a drill sergeant?

🤔👍🍻

That last one was fcking hilarious! 🤣🤣🤣🇺🇸

I know, even as a civilian, you guys didn’t make up a single one of those either. And your ‘sources’ likely even went to government school! #ModernEducayshun?

😂

That's why I kept my mouth shut. I didn't get into trouble until AIT. Wait, that's not true. Weapons turn-in was a bitch being dyslexic.

Have any of them ever mentioned the game yet

Are there two different color campaign hats or is it just the lighting?

"Stories from the trail" would make an excellent podcast for @pepperboxtv.

And they do that with a straight face.

Sailor here, what’s the gig about not having patches? We didn’t have them, just a ships ball cap to show who you belonged to
